A New Reason To Stay Sober!!

Two days ago I was talking to someone here on the forum. Saying how kids seem to be a strong reason to get and stay sober. Only thing is my kids are grown, and I was divorced not long ago, and at the same time my dad died. He was my best friend. So I have been running low on reasons to get and stay sober. Well after that talk I got a call from my son. I am going to be a GRANDMA!! I am so happy. I now have a reason to do it. I think God has a sence of humor! lol..lol.. Could not of been better timing for me...

you have no idea!!!!  my grown children know all about my problem, and they have been leaving me with grandbabies daily and often, and even tho some days i didnt feel like it, i had no choice but to get up ...so not only did i want to do it for them as well, it took my mind off stuff and made me move around and keep me busy so they help...

Congrat......on your wonderful news!!! Grandkids are the greatest...I am well experienced,I have 8...ages 11yrs. to 3 weeks.....they are special in different ways! Spend the next 8 or so months getting ready for the new baby...it will be here before you know it! Take care.I am sure you will be a great grandmother!!

Congrats...I hope everything you wanted to do with your kids but weren't able too, you can do with your grandchildren.  Kinda like parenting all over again but with the experience to really make it good...:-).  Not sure about all that as I have teenagers and no grandkids but kinda seeing it that way...ok..just rambling.

Lady my kid is grown also so I know exactly what you mean. I have heard that grandbabies give you a new lease on life. I'm hoping for a couple myself. That is good timing. Congratulations "mee-maw"!

That is the best reason in the whole world girl!...gotta be there to babysit and when she gets biiger...she or he can be ur little buddy!
