ABOUT Suboxtone

I went to my dr on the 6TH of this month for help getting off Vicodine. He put me on Suboxone8mg/2 One and  a Half a day. I started taking that mg. that day. It made me feel like a walking zombie, i could do anything, I had a really hard time just walking to my car, let alone driving home.. This was on wed (the 6th of may). I havent been back to work since i was put on this med. I went and seen my dr that following Monday 13th, he lower my dose to one film a day. I still couldnt function even with that. Thursday i took a Half of one and decided that , that was it. Today is Friday the 17th. I havent taked any today, Ive been a little nausious and dizzy all day. Im scared that i will have to go back on them. I m scared to be on them at all. I dont want to do back on them. Do you think i will be ok .. I read all these storys about how hard it is to get off the Sub. so i disided to get off them before i really got started on them. I was a vicodine addict for 7 years. i was taken 6/8 750 a day every day for 7 years. Im scared that i will go back. I dont want to get sick. Please some one help me.. My nerves are shot... I havent told my dr that i quit taking the Sub yet..

The vicodin withdrawls usually last about a week. Everyone's different though. The sub withdrawls can last quite a bit longer, but you weren't on them for long so you may just luck out. Try not to stress about what symptoms you may or may not get. I'm sure your anxiety level is already high due to the withdrawls. I know that it's easier said than done, but try to just embrace it and go with the flow. Your body is getting rid of all of the toxins and beginning to heal itself. Take a nice hot bath. Watch a funny movie. Listen to some good music and sing very loudly! Do whatever you can to relax yourself and get your mind off of how awful you feel. You are doing great! You will start to feel better very soon, so just hang on!

Hello and welcome to the site

I have to agree with the above posters. I think Subs are too much for vicodins.
IMO your better off to just CT now
And I think that doctor went a little over board giving you Subs

I did CT off Oxy 30 mg CR 2 X daily and did a tPer off Hydro (Norxo)10/325 6-8 daily
And I WD in a Big Rig 18 wheeler in the road

So I know if I can do it that way
You CAN DO THIS!!!!

There are a lot of people on here with a lot of experience with Subs who I am sure will be along shortly
The people on here are wonderful supportive caring and have a lot of clean time and experience to help you

I'm here for support if you need someone to talk to please just PM me or drops a note
I'm on and off here all the time with living in a Big Rig

Take care
Peace
Lesa

PS
Sorry for typos  I'm riding down the highway bouncing around an I'm on my IPhone and it sometimes has a mind of it's own. LOL

Hello! I agree that was way too high of a dose! Also, in my opinion, a 6-8 Vicodin a day habit isn't something to be handled with suboxone. When I was on suboxone, I went on it because of an 80mg OxyContin six times a day plus a hand fil of Percocet a day. It was live or die for me. These doctors are prescribing suboxone too easily now.

I think that you should do great going cold turkey. If your mind is set to be clean and sober then you are off to a great start and you're in the right place:)

I was on subs to help me get off fentanyl. As long as you taper you will be fine. With that said I believe that subs are stronger than Vicodin. You may just want to taper off the Vicodin?? Hopefully someone will come along with more advice. Good luck to you

I quit heroin cold turkey because of the fear I had of subs. If that tells you anything. I could have went to a clinic and been put on it but for some reason I could not bear thinking about taking that stuff then having to suffer WD anyway.
And to be put on it for Vicodin I believe was a bad choice by that doctor. That stuff has its place with people about to die from high uses of drugs like heroin and ultra high doses of pain meds. You may just be able to stop now on your own. I would not take it any longer.
