how long should I have symptoms from Percocet adiction

how long should I have symptoms from Percocet adiction?  I have only been  taking them  two weeks for a tonsilectomy.   my doc said I was having withdrawals that made me feel crummy.  I quit cold turkey  after that.  but feel pretty sick to my stomach and sleep all the time.

Hey Kraeze! Welcome & Congrats on stopping the Percs.

Can you tell us how long ago you stopped -- what day you're on? Because I've got some good news for you, if you're steeping well it's a really positive indicator.

My buddy ariley13's advice above is spot on. Do take a look at the Thomas Recipe. I'd also suggest (for the nausea) that you take a piece of ginger, peel & cut off about a one inch piece, squeeze it through a garlic press into a mug, pour hot water over it & let it steep for about 5 mins. This is a potent remedy. If you have other gut issues (i.e. the runs) Imodium will help. Hot baths with salt, exercise, a healthy caffeineless, low sugar, unprocessed diet & proper hydration (2 to 3 liters of plain water per day) will all help to speed detox and general healing.

Wishing you all the best & a rapid recovery. We're here!

Everyone's different, but your symptoms shouldn't be too bad. Have you discussed this with your dr? They can help you to taper off. There are also supplements and vitamins you can take that lessen the symptoms. There is a link for the Thomas Recipe at the bottom of the page. It is full of good stuff to help you out. Good luck to you!

thank you.  for your reply. I  usually try not to take pain killers so I haven't  had this before.  the doctor encouraged me to stay ahead of the pain which made it difficult to judge if I was taking too much.

Hi! If you have only been on them for 2 weeks, your withdrawl symptoms should be minimal. Have you had a problem with opiates in the past? If you have taken them in the past for long periods of time, this will definitely affect the length and severity of your symptoms.
