*Addiction Counseling*

I am curious if any one has went to addiction counseling?  I had an appointment today that I was very nervous about, and everything was GREAT!  This was the guy that had to reffer me to the Suboxone DR in his buliding to get an appointment.  He reffered me and said I was a perfect canidate for Suboxone after hearing everything about my addiction.  He said that I seem to have what it takes to beat this, and that I seem more determined that most!  Also, I told him about this site, and he said that was great!  HERE WE GO!

It would cost alot more, but my insurance covers all but the $22.00 co-pay.. But he wants me to see him 2 times per week in the start and then go to 1 time per week.. Sicne I cannot even afford the 1 time per week I told him I will do what I can to make it once a week.  I am going to emurse myself into this 100% EVERYDAY will have some recovery help of some sort. Either NA, counseling, group therapy, family skills workshop(which is free to anyone who is a patient to their business).. So I am going to be OK.. It is just going to take some very rough work and time..

I would love to go to an addiction counseler. Do you have to pay for him or does your insurance cover it?
Sorry your Sub. appmnt. got cancelled, that must be really frustrating.  Good things are worth waiting for? LOL

Thank you all so much for the kind words, and support! This means so much to me.  I made sure to tell him that this site was what opened my eyes to getting the REAL HELP I need!  I give this site, and it's members alot of credit for the push I needed to get my act right.. I still am worried about about what I am going to do about not having enough meds to last until my appointment.  I am going to try and get a few (if possible) to get me to the 4-5th thats when my mom gets her percoset and said she would give me enough to last until my Sub app.  I just need to stay sane for 2 more weeks then it will all get better.. I have a HUGE support system. Plus he gave me a number to go to NA meetings, and then group therapy as well.  I am going to be loaded with help almost everyday along with the suboxone. The sub is just one tool out of many I am getting to fix this problem!

So gald to see you are feeling much better than the day your appt. was cancelled - we felt so bad for you.  It sounds as if you have a good counselor - that is awesome...Please keep posting regarding your progress...We all know you can do this.

hooorrrayyyy!!! oxyaddict420 no more.   i think your counselor is very right.  if anybody can do this you can.  you want it so badly i am sure you are gonna get it.   and i will be here for you every step of the way....  i am rootin for you.

I am happy or you I know you have been waiting for this day ,congragulations I wish you the best.PS consuling is always a good thing we all need that extra help and it feels good to just get everything out so we can have the tools we need to walk the line
