I hope you are still using this forum. Please, is three anohter name for clonoprin? It is not in Drugs.com or anywhere ese. Did you getit outside the US?
Xanex has to be tapered over a long period of time. I was on 4 mg and tapered down to 1 mg but can't seem to taper anymore, but I have panic attacks and general anxiet disorder. It is recommended that the dosage be tapered by no more than 20% every 10 days to 2 weeks. Some recommend substituting valium for xanex. The dosage equivalency is supposed to be 20 mg of valium for each 1 mg of xanex. So, if you get your xanex usage down to 2 mg, you would be substituting with 40 mg of valium. Then you could safely go down by 1 mg of valium every week or 2. This way it would save you from the worst withdrawals. The only problem being that some doctors do not want to write prescriptions for valium. A lot of doctors try to withdraw you too fast. The best way is slow. Ask your doctor about this.
perhaps you 2 can pm each other and offer support...benzos are tapered to avoid seizures...perhaps in the am someone with more experience can help as i was a hydro addict
12-16mgs of ataivan right now, an having a hell of a problem
Sorry , I misunderstood the post...That is not a theraputic dose. I would still go to my MD I can not give advise as I never had to wd, only tapered bc I wanted to while using a theraputic dose. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Corey
I think she is saying that she is taking 2 to 4 mg of xanax and she did not say what dose pill she was using to add up to that....do keep posting as there is alot of support here
So is it 2-4mg or 8-1mg. Just trying to clarify
xanax comes in .25 .5 and 1 mg tablets.... .25 is the usual starting dose for xanax 4 mg a day would be a substantial dose and would need to be slowly tapered due to risk of seizures...I have never been addicted to benzos but others may help who have more experience
Do they come in 4 mg? I was taking 2-3 5 mg Xanax for years for panic attacks and bc of some life traumas. I used to take Valium 5 mg 2-3 x a day and when my stress was down, I took less bc I didn't remember to take them wo the stress. I found that Xanax was difficult to cut down on and stayed at 3 pills a day for a long time. I talked to my MD and she said they can cause rebound anxiety so that when I took a pill and it wore off I was getting anxiety from the pill wearing off. This was different than wd as it happened in a matter of several hours. She put me on clonoprin and no more rebound anxiety. I take 1-2 .5 mg a day and sometimes only 1 to sleep. Im not recommending that you just stop taking them but talk to your doc. Clonoprin is much easier to cut down on when you are taking a theraputic dose. Good luck, Corey
That drug has to be tapered and would be best under a doctor's supervision...can you talk to your doctor about it and make a plan with his supervision...please be safe and keep posting
