Please help

I'm almost 24hrs with no perks I'm going through very bad times on top of all of this.  I don't know what to do I can't take the pain from being without meds.  I don't want them in my life.  I want my life back how long and how unsafe is a self detox.

If this helps at all... I was taking 40 to 50 norco 10/325 mg. A DAY... for 4 years straight and never missed a dose. I found an affordable rehab and checked myself in for detox. ( do not take without consulting with someone).. They gave me lorazapan(ativan) every 9 hours, for anxiety, Rabaxin (basically motrin 800), a blood pressure pill, and pepcid a.c every 7 hours. On the third day I rose again!! It was like this switch that turned on and I was finally free, youll know as soon as it hits you. The next four days were all mental. Some depression, but atleast I wasnt waking up counting pills anymore. After 7 days I came home and the very first thing that I did was panic, I was so safe in rehab, and now I am back to the apartment I used in and front of the t.v I was always high looking at. The next day I woke up and got 450 norcos. My tolerance had gone down a bit so I was able to stretch it to a 3 week binge, but there I was again, in that same place and all that work meant nothing. (This is the entire point of my story).. I was so angry that I went backwards, I had a choice to make, either keep getting them or stop cold turkey. So I quit cold turkey, took my last 18 on a sunday night and just let the dice roll. Hylands RLS leg pills i ate like skittles and with no anxiety meds all I took for pain was advil, and advil PM. I dont know if it was the courage and strength I got from the rehab (to know it could be done) or if it was just me really really really wanting it. The point is I never thought I would get free from pills and I did, and I truly hope you hang in there and I know you are probly sick of us telling you this but seriously IT WILL PASS!!! Time heals all wounds.

How much were you taking??  I think you need to start with a positive attitude.  Instead of asking how long and how unsafe detox is, think how short and how easy is it?  :)  Do you have any outside support besides us here?  You're doing the right thing, and you CAN get through this.  It might be hard, but it's totally worth it.  You are going to experience pain but it's not "REAL" pain.  Meaning, it's pain, but once you get over it, you will know your REAL pain level and it will be waaay lower than what it is now! Keep your head up!!! You can do this!!!

Btw, how much were you doing and for how long? You can do this!! You are doing it and with every withdrawal symptom know that it's your body getting rid of that poison. Find things to pass the time. Posting here, reading uplifting stories of recovery, listening to music (no depressing stuff though) and watch funny movies. Do you have support from family/friends? Let people help. Your courage and enduring this will be rewarded a hundred fold in the form of a new lease on life!

Good news is as long as your in generally good health (no heart conditions etc) detox, although very painful, will not harm you. Quite the opposite. You will be ridding yourself of toxins and most of all getting your life back. Check out the Thomas Recipe posted here in the health pages and get the stuff. The next few days will be rough but then you'll start to feel better. Hang in there. This is the best place ever to come for help. People here will help you through this. Take it a minute at a time if you have to. Hot soaks in the tub, mindless movies and hylands restful legs all are very helpful. Try to stay positive. One week of feeling bad and you get to have your life back. Not a bad deal! Your making the best decision of your life!!! Your saving your life by doing this. Stay strong and keep posting.
