1 month clean

Hae not been on in a couple of months, So I
thought I'd update everyone on how iv been getting
on!!! I was on methadone for just under 17yrs I was
30ml for the most part But I used everything &
anything for the same amount of time, About 7
months ago I had  enough of this life so I stopped
using heroin started reducing my methadone started
going to CA meetings, removed people & things that
were no good for me out of my life, I cut right down
to 7ml for 3 weeks the took the Worst detox ever
"lafexadine" its just for blood pressure & 3 librium a
day for 1 week That was one month ago, now it
wasn't as bad as I thought as I got sleep & ate A lot
(half the battle) where I'm at now is the physical stuff
is nearly over I have a few good days a bad day here
& there, it comes in waves. Also for the whole detox
& up till now Iv had UTI like symptoms so that made
it worse for me But I talked about my urine more
than the detox lol So my advice to anyone coming of
methadone is to cut rite down till you feel your ready
then go on a detox that isn't mind altering
( suboxone wasn't a road I wanted to go down Why
replace 1 drug for another) now what the reality is
I'm left with the same mind & its crazy!!! But that
will get sorted out  enough to live life like the
"normal people" CA for me has been a lifesaver Not.
All the people But a good few & it also helps me
understand that I'm not an evil prick that did all sorts
of crazy **** just to get high or sorted out, we are  all a
bunch of misfits that want to move on & stay in
recovery But never forget our past its what's going to
make us into the people we hope to become... I think
that's all I want to say!!!! Stay safe & keep
the  faith  ;)

Support is key in recovery, I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have a great support network & now its time to pass on my way of how I got off a 20yr addiction 1 day at a time is a hard pill to swallow But swallow it we must do Or we will get complacent about all the hard work we put in to get here! You guys were a HUGE support to me when I first found this forum THANX one & all :)

Its great to update about recovery, a tattoo that's great make it mean something!! Iv just read a few posts there & I forgot all ready about the sore legs!! The mind forgets quickly what pain we suffer But iv yet to read anyone say about how sore the arms get! I swear I wanted to cut my arms off the first 2 weeks I described it like a lava lamp the pain flowed around 1 arm the a leg then a arm & leg again I felt so lafargic & like I was full of lead it was by far the worse part of WDs grrrrrrr But 30 days later I'm here & clean Wow saying I'm clean in CA is so strange to me I feel kinda weird saying it lol Proud though. Thanx for the reply
