Need advise

This is my first time here I really needed to talk to someone. I'm so tired of taking opiates I just want my life back. I'm so afraid that I won't be able to do it. My husband has me so freaked out about quitting that I've been putting it off. I don't think I'm strong enough to taper off. It doesn't help that he is an addict as well. I just feel like my life has come to a halt. Anyway, I'm hoping that talking to others that have been through this can give me some advice..

It doesn't matter how much you use, you CAN get off the crazy train. Tapering opiates isn't easy to control on your own, I know that first hand. As addicts we really can't control the use of drugs. You'd need someone you trust to hold them for you if you need to taper. How much do you use daily and for how long? This will help on deciding to taper or c/t.

You mentioned your husband is putting the fear in you about quitting. Do you feel your husband is purposely discouraging you or doesn't want you to quit? Remember that you come first. This is your life. You need to do what YOU need to do. If you have the willingness to quit, you should follow that feeling immediately. By posting your question you already have made a positive move towards recovery.
