Catching it and I want it to stop!

Newby to this site, but not to the vics. I started taking them for sleep like a fool and couldn't stop, I take 4-6/day. Get them from a friend. So badly wanna quit, but like EVERYBODY is saying...it's hard! I took only one today. I had a slammin hot flash that wouldn't quit. I feel sorry for my little boy because I get so aggitated, so quickly. I have to stop and think of why I'm upset. Is it at him, or is it at me. Most of the time I'm aggitated from not having those stupid pills. I think of life, and how it was BEFORE those stupid pills came into my life, and I just wanna feel normal again. You know what? I'm terribly frightened of the withdrawals. I don't like alcohol, therefore I will not use it to console myself. My energy is low, but my little boy is constantly asking me for things and getting on my nerves. I need some alone time to do this. I work everyday, a RN, go figure! Was on my way to get some more vics tomorrow, but I'm really hoping to stop myself. This site, and hearing these stories is a great motivator. Especially that guy that was so hardcore and now he's ok. That's all I wanna be...is ok. Wish me luck and please prey for me. This page is just a big ol honesty page, and I love it. Very grateful..Good luck and I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Great Job!!!

You are doing amazing.  It WILL start to get better.  The bathroom thing can be pretty tough as can the no energy.  Simply do what you can....even if that means ignoring your visitors!!!!! ha ha

Your attitude is in fine shape and it will carry you far.  Try and laugh every chance you get!!!  Keep posting to let us know how you're doing and someone will always be around to help.

It was very nice to read you are doing so well,

Hi guys,

Yesterday was a BEAR!! Had to work and was in the bathroom constantly, NO energy whatsoever, shakey, and nervous. I got out of the bed this morning, and it took literally, EVERYTHING I had. I have so much to do, but no energy to do it with. Got home from work, and there was my son, his friend, my cousin, and her 3 year old. Tearing up my house and talking constantly. I went up to my bedroom, layed down, and acted as if no one was in the house. I'm going to have to make some sacrifices if I'm going to succeed at this. I normally cook, we'll have to grab something everyday, cleaning is going to have to wait, or i'll do it in small increments (I hate a messy house). I have a LOT to do, and the withdrawals are making me very tired. I HAVE realized that the psychological aspect is dimishing. I believe that was my biggest problem. I'm rollin with the punches, and treating these withdrawals symptomatically. Loperamide, gatorade, advil, benedryl for sleep. I have been getting a good nights rest. Not affecting my night sleep at all. I really do wanna stop, and I'm gonna keep on trying. I'm gonna feel NORMAL again...lol. Thank you guys for your support.

Welcome,

At NA they say you will only be able to stop when your desire to quit taking pills becomes greater than your desire to use them.  Pretty simple huh???

You DO really need to want to stop before it can happen.  The good news for you is that your drug and dosage are at the smaller end of the scale and it should make things a little easier on you.

The hot flashes and cold flashes and many other things are quite normal.  Learn all about the symptoms from reading other posts so you know exactly what to expect.  Also, you can look up the Thomas recipe in the bottom right corner of this page.

There are so many people here who will help you when you are ready.  Do you want this???  THAT is the 64 thousand dollar question.  This is very doable.  If you want it bad just get it done.  You will feel crappy for a few days but things will improve and you can feel "normal" again.  (whatever THAT is ha ha).

We're pulling for you!!!!  Keep us posted!!!!
