Very unlikely.  Yes it is going to be tough, like having one hell of a flu BUT you will survive.  Get all the needed supplies, vitamins, supplements, liquids, over the counter remedies and you are well on your way.  You can find out what people recommend by searching through old posts.  If you have any issues, just PM me and I will send you a detailed list of what helped for me.  You will be OK, I promise. I was so scared of the withdrawal symptoms, that I stayed in addiction for a year longer than I needed.  When I finally had enough, I got tough and sucked it up and I can say that it was the best decision I ever made.

Well Keith, I'm not sure what you're asking here... If you are asking if death is a risk of codeine withdrawal, that would depend on a few factors. First of all, are there any other health issues? Are you on an extremely high dose? If the answer is "no", then I would say probably not. If you are relatively healthy otherwise, then it is safe to detox at home. It will be hard and uncomfortable, but definitely can be done. However, since we don't know your history, we really cant answer that for you. It is always best to seek the help of your physician before starting a home detox. Your Dr may be able to provide you with some extra tools to aid in your detox. Please post some more so we can learn your story and support you in your fight. Best of luck to you!
