:D couldn't be happier!!!

I know this should really be in the social section but i'm just so excited and didn't know if anyone would read it there.

So ...why is she so excited you might ask?

I got into my course!!!! for those of you don't know i applied and went through a lengthy process of getting into Certificate 4 in Alcohol and other drugs and Certificate 4 in Mental health!!! (I want to help other addicts in getting sober and staying sober)

I know i have a long way to go to get off suboxone but i am more determined than EVER!!!! What an intensive!!! I'm so happy right now. (I know i have to be drug free etc a certain amount of time before i can work in the field but while i wait i will get educated!)

So i need everyone to pray and give me words of wisdom over the next couple of months to be Suboxone free!

Congratulations - that is something to be excited about.  I have always been very interested in that field as well and I wish you all the best.

Detoxing from suboxone is along the same lines as detoxing from methadone as they are both long lasting opioids used for maintenance programs.  You might want to start on the proper vitamins and get some calcium/magnesium supplements (one is called NaturalCalm and it works great) - these will help with some of the symptoms associated with withdrawals.  If you do not get the proper nutrition (most of us do not) you could start drinking boost or ensure, each offer a brand with higher protein.  The healthier you are upon starting your detox, the easier it will be for you.

You have added motivation with this opportunity to go to school so that will help alot.  Best of luck and keep us posted - You will do great and there are many people here who will help give you the support you need during this time.

Again, congratulations and good luck -
Peace
