Hey, Hun......
I heard that the stuff you are taking can "make it worse" stop taking it !!! You will probably feel much better in a couple days........
I totally disagree with that stuff. I think its irresponsible for people to throw this information.....Just my opinion. I have heard cases like yours from past members. They stopped taking it and felt much better in a couple-few days.
Throw it away!!
Luv,
Nauty...............
I know this post is from yesterday, but i wouldnt recommend DHEA its a pro hormone thats used for different reasons. Alot of bodybuilders use it mixed with other pro hormones to boost testosterone and sex drive...though it has many other uses i just wouldnt use it for mood, like others said it can raise our anxiety...
As far as the 5-HTP that could definately help you and is the better alternative...keep up the good work and if you have any questions feel free to message me.
Congrats on the 22 days clean! You may want to look at some aftercare, such as antidepressants, or anti anxiety meds. I cannot say that I have been where you are at, because I only got to day 2 CT and then went back. I am now on a weening schedule, but plan to get the amino acid vitamins this weekend and take them while I taper then in 2 weeks I will be CT. I wish you the best. If you feel the need, call a counselor or psychiatrist. They won't judge you, and they will give you the best aftercare possible.
I hope for the best in what you do. You were the one who brought me out of my "hump" when I thought my days here were over with WD and everything in between. Please stay strong, and know that this is merely the addiction calling to you at anytime it's able.
Sorry to hear that you are still stuggling too. I too have been following your posts.I am at day 31 and still have some depression, anxiety, and irritablility, but I have days where I feel great( I give my thanks to God for that) Hang in there it will get better!!
I have a couple of suggestions. First, as IBKleen alluded to...have you considered aftercare at all? I go to AA and NA meetings. I can actually go into the rooms feeling low and nervous and have an hour of serenity and peace...then come out and have a great day. Please, consider it. Also, for many people and antidepressant is indicated after some time clean and sober. However, it's suggested you're clean for 6-8 weeks before looking at this option. There's no shame in taking an appropriate antidepressant under a doctor's care.
The 5-HTP helped me a lot right after I was done with the physical withdrawal.
I need to ask you if you have considered some form of aftercare? Your disease is screaming at you right now and I hate to see you lose what you have worked so hard for.
`5-Htp may help but take it at night first it may make you a bit sleepy.
ITs a more natural way to raise your serotonin levels a bit.
DHEA can give you energy and can also make you very anxious.
I have used it before when I would workout taking about 100mg of it.
Normally the pills are in 25 mg.
Personally I would try the amono acid l-troysine first starting with 1000 mgs.
The caps are normally 500mg I take 2 of them apart and put them in a shaker bottle of water. Its not that soluable but works well. Must be taken on a empty stomach if with food you will cancel its affects.
Peace
Hey Sportnut,
I've talked with you before and have been following your posts.
I'm on day #22 myself from a 5 yr OXY habit, I quit cold turkey on July 7
I'm still feeling some fatigue too but the only thing that seems to help is walking, even if I don't feel like it, and I've been taking some of those FRS health chews, the things that Lance Armstrong was taking during his Chemo... Theres not a ton of Caffiene in them but they seem to help.
Still dragging *** myself but I'm looking forward to 30 days.
Hang in there Bro
Hey there....I was @ 33 days off CT before I hit a brick wall (long story), but i'm back at it @ day 2....
I really like 5-HTP...i really feel like it helped with my mood! Even @ day 2, i feel like it's helping...it's not going to work overnight and depends on the person, but it's worth a shot...some say it takes 1-2 weeks to really feel the difference, but i felt it (or at least i thought i did) in like 4-5 days. around my 25th day, i was whistling when i was walking to my office and i can't remember the last time i did that...
all i can say is that it's worth a shot...the first month is a roller coaster ride (emotionally and physically)...once the physical WDs pass (usually 3-5 days), the mental part kicks in and that's the TOUGHEST to tackle...hang in there, you should be proud of yourself for getting to day 24...before you know it, you'll be celebrating 1 month!
it takes time...i know all one can do is think, "man, will i be like this forever without pills"and the answer is no...you will get better, it just takes time...
