Is pain a normal part of withdrawal

I know I am clutching at straws, but I have been clean now from CAT (methcathinone) after using for many years for just over 4 months. I have been experiencing weird constant muscle aches for some time now in my thighs, groin, knees and sometimes in my forearms. is this related to my previous heavy stimulant use? Im worried as it seems to be getting worse and is even making me walk very strangely

Hi

I feel really uneducated reading all these comments, I honestly wish I understood more. I'm in such desperate need of help - my boyfriend is a CAT addict and can't attend rehab because his family would basically kick him out if they found out about his addiction. He's trying to ween himself off slowly but uses when he has to study etc. Yesterday he had a really scary episode when he asked me for his bank card and couldn't decide whether to buy or not, and I didn't make it much easier for him - I started crying and it broke his heart to see me that way, he burst out in anger and I had never seen him like that.. It's difficult understanding from the outside, but I need to help him. How do I help and what do I do to get him off? He'll be done with exams on Wednesday and we're going to put a plan of action into place from then, so I'd really like advice from the basics, if I may ask.

I'd really appreciate your help, and I'm sorry if I seem like an uneducated idiot!

I hope you're well, congratulations on being clean for such a long time!

Hi Marycarmel,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. It started literally a few days after stopping and has been getting progressively worse since. I have to wait till month end to see a doc ( :( ) and in the meantime am stressing so badly

I'm not sure what methcathinone is. Hopefully, someone will come along who has some familiarity with this.

Have you seen your doctor?  I would think after 4 months most withdrawal symptoms would subside.  You may have something medically going on.  I had terrible joint and muscle pain 12 years ago and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  I think you definitely should see your doctor about these symptoms.  How long after getting off CAT did you start getting these symptoms?

For now, you might try some ibuprofen (if it's safe for you) and try soaking in a hot tub.  They're only temporary measures but may give you some relief.
