Yes a gram of dilaudid is equal to 8 grams of moraphine.I have been taking dilaudid and soma and flexeril for pain for 2 years I guess...how ever pain pills for about 15 or 20years.I would wear them out, so they mad them stronger and stronger.  I have been on most of the drugs listed on the forum.  All were prescribed by my doctors.  I took a 4 mg dilausid, a soma, a trazadone and 2tamazapam every night for bed and sleeo. I also take many drugs for different things. Heart, blood pressure, diabetes, fibromyalgia, COPD with bronchaitis, emphasema, and asthma.I also use inhalers and nebulizer with albuterol, and stuff. I am almost 66 and had my first heart attack when I was 49 years old.  I have 5 stents in my heart. I only take the dilaudids in pill form except when I am in the hospital which is usually a few times a year,,,they give it iv thereUsually about 2 mg for pain but have been given as much as 6 mg at a time for pain.  At home I only take it for pain plus every night befor bed pain or not.  When the pain is bad I would take a dilaudid and soma every 2 hours.  I would guess if you count the inhalers I am on 16 or 18 different RX.  They have told me many times ovr the last 15 years that i gcould not survive another 5 years....but I am too damn mean to die.  Tonight I am in terrible pain from the fibromyalgia, my rib cage from coughing, and my back.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Love to you    Jerri

jerrip,

Kecia emailed me asking if I could help you out in any way, so here I am! :-)

While I have never really detoxed off Dilaudid, I did use it Intravenously for many years, and its a pretty hefty drug.

Dilaudid, Fentanyl, Methadone and other synthetic opiates are a little different in their chemical make up as they were created in a lab to be stronger than pure morphine.

The shakes you are having while unpleasant are not uncommon with synthetic opiate wd. You brains receptors are purging themselves of that poison, and slowly beginning to regenerate dopamine, serotonin, epinepherine and such.  It takes approximatelly14-21 days for this process to begin to occur, and your shakes should start getting better soon.

I would reccomend Melatonin and Valerian for sleep, Vitamin B12 for lack of energy, potassium for leg cramps and muscle spasms, and PLENTY of water. Im not sure how poor your health is, but getting out for a little walk will help produce more of those endorphins and make you feel a bit better.  Even if its just around the block once or twice a day!

Could you answer a few questions to give me a better idea of where you are at? If you dont want to answer them here feel free to email me or if they are to personal you dont have to.  But how much dilaudid were you taking.  Was it oral or IV?  How did you start? How long have you used, and what are some of your health issues and meds that you are currently taking?

I know that this is a hard time for you.  I am struggling with suboxone wd's now and I am only 26 years old and in good health.  I can only imagine what you are going through.
Please hang in there, and please continue posting. I know it sounds strange, but it really does help! :-)

Henry

I am 65, and on 18 different RX, and my health is very poor.  As you might imagine I want no part of any other thing that needs an rx. Thanks however for the suggestion.  How are you doing?    Jerri

Can you get hold of Valium or something similar? If it's safe for you, it'll knock those shakes out ...

I have used didlaudid iving but I have been using morphine with a healthy helping of fentanyl and hydro and have detoxed a few times to be my stupid self and go back ten steps. It is not easy to look life square in the face when it seems to hate me but as I say its not over until it is over. U no?? Hang in there and don't let this scare you some feel better on the third day not with me would that I be that lucky but it does fade and so does the depression as well.
