Welcome to the forum! I am also a cocaine addict now clean and hope to talk to you. How long have you been clean from crack? How long did you use? Cocaine cravings are so much different, in fact i don't call them cravings, cause cravings are easy to beat, it's when we reach that coke mode that we are in trouble. Most times i could feel it coming and the most important thing to do when these thoughts occur is talk about it and get support, it's crucial. Without it, that craving will grow and grow and become obsession with no other thoughts but cocaine.
You should be very proud of yourself for cleaning up and going to college. As you know 1 single toke will steal it all away from you. Crack is truly a monster to beat and to control cravings, but with some type of aftercare and support group it will be easier. I have some journals about cocaine cravings and how to beat them and some other sfuff on coke. There is also health pgs here with a bit on info i added on cocaine. Now is the time to prepare yourself to STAY clean, cause you know as well as i do, once you start up again, there is no stopping. Good luck and hope to hear from you.
P.S. Congrats on quitting this drug, lets keep it that way:)
One more thing, it can be even more difficult to stay clean when both partners are addicted. Is your husband struggling with a lot of cravings right now too?
hi...i just read yesterday that when we quit drugs some of the drug remains in our fat tissues and our body tissues turn over every so often which cause some drug release to the brain causing cravings and relapses. these urges are horrible but we have to remain strong...just keep fighting..the brain is trying to trick you...good luck..maria
