Day 3

Well we've made it through the night. Another long night of tossing and turning with no hope in sight of any sleep. The only comfort we can get is by taking a hot shower. That seems to relieve the pain at least a little bit.  We dont know what were going to do today but the pain is still there. That unyielding pain throughout our bodies.  We are staying strong, the thought of going to get drugs is not an option for us. We just want to get through this and be drug free. Were going to try and busy ourselves today i hope it is enough to take the pain away. We are staying strong. And if someone out there is in the same position we are and reading this.  Stay strong you can do it, if we can do it so can you.

I think anyone going through withdrawals finds comfort in a wonderful post like this.  Thank you.  And no matter how long any of us have been sober...there is enormous comfort in knowing that we are not alone and that every minute turns into hours, hours into days and before you know it we have regained our freedom and our lives.  Taking pleasure from the little things again.  The moments that make up our lives are happy ones and no longer about the darkness, about where our next pill is coming from.  It's exhausting to be an addict, the days are meaningless...nothing matters anymore, life loses it's meaning.  Staying clean and sober changes ALL that.  You will be happy again!!  Please stay strong and know you are all special and that you matter...every moment you are a step closer to peace and happiness.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

You are doing great so keep going.  Hot baths and showers are good and will help.  Try to get up and move around as much as you can.  Drink plenty of fluids.  Are you taking any supplements?  Those help too.  The sleep will come.  Just hang in there as the worst is almost over!!!!!         sara
