Wondering what a couple beers would do?

HI, I am on day 8 of my c/t detox off a heavy hydros addiction. I haven't drank in a long time. But,  a cold one sounding really good right now. Is this a bad Idea? Is this a slip? wanted to ask to see if anyone been there, done that and what it did to there progress. I.....just want to feel something other than this nagging drone fog. UGH, any help out there?

Hi, I decieded against "having a couple" as I know myself enough that I don't trust myself. I am going to try the benedryl. I would just like to say a great big "Thank You" to all and everyone who has responded to all my posts. This is a great site and I don't think I would have made it this far without it.  Those Dam pills took so much from me and I am hellbent to beat this addiction. But, it is so comforting to know I am not alone. I know I am not, nor will I ever be, "Done" with my addictive personality. But I have two boys that I want to raise and teach how become good men.  I will find a way to deal with the pain situation in a matter that won't kill me before I have a chance to acheive these goals. Again, Thanks to everyone.

alcohol in small amounts can help with sleep...in larger amounts it is actually counter productive to sleep...it can help relax me to fall asleep i think but staying asleep...nah...i do not have trouble sleeping as a rule tho...if this waking up 4 hours later is a detox thing, what have u tried?...cold temps in the house helps to slow ur metabolism down and keep u asleep...there are some natural sleep aids for this as well...alcohol will not help keep u asleep i dont think...not me anyway

Don't think having a beer or so will have a negative affect on your program. Sleep is a major league issue at this time. Get some rest. Unfortunately valium are short acting....I had more luck with benadryl for sleep - 50-75mg usually good for 7-8 hours. Although i did use some valium for anxiety

HI, thanks for the input. Wondering, did it help u sleep better at night? I have been taking a valium at night before bed and it helps, but I wake up 3-4 hours later and don't want to keep pumping another drug into my system.

k...going out on a limb here but i drank corona light with a lime...1-2 each night during detox......nights were also easier for me as i was a daytime user...did not use pills for partying purposes...i am not the type that gets addicted to everything i take...but i do know some people are...i do not have a problem with alcohol...if i did i would think this would be a very bad idea and i am not recommending it...simply stating that i enjoyed it in the evening during detox
