Help to get off suboxone?

I am a 28 year old female,I have been on suboxone for 5 years from a 2 year addiction to Vicodin and OxyContin, I was told I could take it for chronic pain I have fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis, and endometriosis, I have later realized this medication is far worse than if I would of just finished withdrawing off my pain meds. But my doc claimed it to be a miracle drug and now that I want off they act like I'm crazy or they just ignore the question of it so for anyone who has been on it as long as I have I could really use the help on the best methods of tapering off of it.

I have been on Suboxone since April.  I had a 15 year addiction to vicodin.  My doctor want to start weaning me.  I normally take two tablets of 8 mg per day.  He wants me to just take one a day for now.  Depending on how well I tolerate that, he will put me on two tablets of 4 mg.  I have to be honest with you, there have only been a couple of days where I've only taken one, I have zero willpower.  But, today I only took one and I really didn't feel any different.  Maybe just a little tired.  I'm going to try my best and only take one tomorrow.

Good luck with your journey!

Hmmm, try to find a dr that'll taper you.  Or you can do a self taper, not recommended though.  I was on subs as long as you and tapering helped a LOT!

Hi and welcome to the forum~~

I am sorry you have had troubles with your doctor.  Is there any other doctors that prescribe Sub in your area that would be helpful in tapering off this?
