How many days has everyone been clean here?

I will be honest, it has only been one day for me but I started today off fresh and im trying. I still have a full bottle of pills in my purse, but im fighting!!

11 days and no sleep?  I sure hope u get some sleep tonight s10s....u have to be exhausted but that is great u r hanging in there...have u tried anything to help u with the sleep problem?  I am sure u have just worrying!

It is day 12 technically day 11 since I haven't gone to sleep yet, I'm pooped.  FLUSH THOSE D@MN PILLS!

i have 70 days today. been addicted to just about everything. this last time was alcohol/pills cold turkey. thank God i didn't have another seizure. i did put myself in an aa detox so i could be watched. no meds there but the support of other addicts/alcoholics going through the same thing was wonderful...

Thank you for all of your responses. It means a lot to know that I have so many people here that support and relate to me. goingtomakeit loved the poem. haha. I am so happy for all of you guys who have made it past day 1. I am slowly rolling into day 2. I will keep you guys posted, but I am planning on flushing these pills as soon as I get home tonight. (at work). If i have any troubles doing it, I am going to come back here and read all these posts all over again. Thank you again. It is a temendous help.

Yes, flush the pills, especially since your on day 1.  I don't know what you were using, or how much, but if hard-core withdrawals kick in, the temptation to use them will be tremendous.  

I haven't had the urge to use any since my detox.  I guess that isn't the norm, but I just don't.  I vividly remember & will never forget my brutal detox, and I know that any 'good' feeling you get from pills is totally fake & un-natural.  That's not something I want.  My SO has been using narcotics on and off for the last several months during extensive dental work.  The bottle is in our nightstand.  I have absolutely no urge...period.  Good luck to you.  Being clean is so much better, in literally every part of your life :)

Oh yeah, I'm 4 1/2 months clean :)

Flush those things down the toilet !!!!!!!!!!  You have to be 100% ready to get those terrible pills out of your system. Please do it everyone here will help. day 17 here

I agree with everyone, throw those pills down the toliet. Do not give them away because

you might be tempted to ask for them back..I have not used since March 8th 2007,

If I had pills on me now I would take them, even after being clean for that long.

So please flush them and hang in there.

6 weeks. I would'nt have been able to hold onto them for even a day...even now. Glad you got rid of them.

I have to agree with everyone else here, lose the pills!! I have 40 days clean from Oxy's and Perc's, but honestly I don't think I could've done it if I had access to the pills. Like someone else said on about day 4-5 it's easy to think that a couple of pills wouldn't hurt anything. Oh boy!! Flush them!! Good luck!!

Thank you all. broknbk I think you are right. I am going to give them to someone else, I really shouldn't be holding onto them any longer. That is a good idea...

5 1/2 months here.
Hey, you know that bottle of pills is going to burn a hole through your purse.
I understand wanting a 'safety net' in case you think you will totally lose it, but a whole bottle is nothing but trouble especially like on day 4 or 5. When you start to feel a little better you may think a couple can't hurt.

If you want a little safety net, have someone close to you just hold a pill or 2 for you and you will have to go to them for it. Of course someone who understands what you are going through. Just a suggestion. The real answer is GET RID OF THEM AS FAST AS U CAN.

My husband is going through withdrawal right now; He is on his third day; It is horrible to watch him.  Is anyone else having symptoms?

2 1/2 days and counting. First things first get rid of the pills. I know that I would have already fell on my face if they were not gone. My son poured out the 150 That I get every mth from the Va and the 2 scripts that I got elsewhere. I called the VA and MD's and told them the problem right away. So for what it's worth lose them NOW!

uummm, you really need to get rid of those pills.  you are only setting yourself up to fail.  i dont know one single person that could quit pills and have them readily available. (except goingtomakeit).  that is a temptation you dont need.  why do you have them?
