Tapering

I've been tapering off vics for almost 2 weeks; 2 a day for 5 days, 1 a day for 5 days and now nothing in 48 hours.  I used 3-4 a day for 7 years. When will the fatique and lack of motivation go away, or will it??  Any one have any similar experiences??  Curious to know how people deal with slow withdrawal.  I'm determined to  get off these evil pills.  I was originally prescribed for legitimate surgery but found the "empowering" effect too great to turn away.  Thanks for any help.

Fatigue and lack of motivation will go away as your 'chemical brain' is being replaced with your 'natural brain' again by staying clean. You WILL go back to feeling good naturally. About 2-3 weeks and you should be mostly over it but you'll have windows of feeling better that come and go, and every day they will get longer and you will be amazed at the natural good feelings about life you'll have which you have'nt felt in years cause the drug supressed them and 'replaced' them with chemical good feelings. Focusing on knowing your natural feel good chemicals are returning is a good way to 'deal' with withdrawal as you say. You had fairly light usage compared to many so it should'nt be very bad. The bad feelings in withdraw are good! otherwise what would motivate us to stay away in the future? If the withdraw only lasted a couple days, we'd go right back to pills cause the $bill$ for the 'party' would be to low. Afterwards, focus on danger of relapse cause the mind naturally forgets painful experiences (withdraw) and recalls or enhances the memory of pleasurable ones (opiate high) your brain will try and 'trick' you into using again because of this. During the pain of withdraw we swear we'll never forget but we do..... Best to you and your new clean life, and great it is !!
