I also agree TrayCee, DO NOT DO DRUGS OF ANY KIND!!!!! Everyone is different and just because someone tells you they did drugs during their pregnancy and their baby came out ok, does not mean that is the case for everyone. I would say they were very lucky and something could come up later on with there children. Almost all has something show up later on, even as far as teenage years. They think they dodged the bullet, but you just better be safe than to be sorry and wondering!!!! Just say no and your chances of having a healthy baby are a whole lot better.

sooo not judgeing you BUT..... I did cocaine for years, theres no physical withdrawals so its not like your doing it to keep from being sick.
Your pregnant.
Dont use cocaine.
Stay away from anyone who might have cocaine or can get it for you.
Sorry if I sound harsh but this is not rocket science.
So to reiterate, your pregnant..dont use cocaine
I also worked for CPS for 12 years and just left there in August. My state is Texas and we test the meconum, when the baby is born. This shows everything in the babies system. It has to be the very first bowel movement from the baby. It can not be tested on the second or third ect, as the results would not be accurate. If they miss that, then you can not tell. This is how its done in TEXAS.

I do agree w/the others and think that it was a very good thing to tell the doctors. Stay strong and if you ever just need someone to chat with were here. Good Luck and God Bless
Hope you come back on here and let us know. Glad you were honest with your dr. And there are no physical w/d's with coke, but the mental is tougher than almost any other drug and pill. Staying clean can be tough, but you have all the reason in the world to do so now. I created a health pg for cocaine effects. At the bottom is cocaine and pregnancy, check it out. good luck.
I used before I knew I was expecting. I quit right away. I took care of my self, gain weight,, rested....my baby was born at 10lbs 4 ozes. Very health boy, he is 18 now and has been tested with a genious mind. Getting of coke is easy then and pill I hve ever done. Coke is mental, pills are physical. I would take the coke w/d anyday over pill w/d.
Coke is very mental in you addiction to you. When ever you feel the need to snort a line, change your thoughts if you can. Think of cute baby cloths and etc. Go to the store and visit the baby area, that will keep your mind where it sould be. Then when you have the baby, you will be able to truthfully tell them you are very clean.
I am glad you were honest with the hospital. Stay on this forum and talk with us. sara

Yes part of the reason they are checking your uirine is for drugs .If you have not used in over two months you should be fine . I commend you for being up front with your doctor you are doing the best thing for your baby Just as importantwhat are you doig for aftercare to stay clean. As you know thats the hardest part and it's going to get harder with the stress of a new baby ? We are here to help you will get threw this .
The urine test is to check for drugs. I used to work for child protection services, and in our state (which is Indiana) if your child is born positive for drugs, the hospital will call CPS and the child was taken and the mom had to complete treatment "successfully" before the child was given back. I don't mean to scare you, and every state is different, but I think you should know what could happen. Most states don't play when it comes to babies testing positive for drugs, especially when it is something like cocaine, herion, crack, etc.
