I'm on Day 7 right now. My doctor told me that the anxiety will be better starting around the first week or two after you stop. It's not the same for each person. Some don't have much, and others it's a real problem, like for me. For me the anxiety seemed to peak today at it's worst. When I have major anxiety, I panic and dry heave in really bad cases. I did that three times in the shower this morning. The doctor put me on ativan .50 three times per day (starting this afternoon) and it has REALLY helped the anxiety. I was on .25 before that and it wasn't touching it. He told me that he wanted me on it for about another week for the anxiety, and then it should be much better. He told me that the first seven days are primarily physical, and then mental anxiety from that point. But, he said once you get over the physical symptoms (which give you a reason to take a pill) then the mental stuff will be slightly easier to deal with. You could also try 50mg of benadryl, but you will be a little foggy. I also take .1mg clonidine twice per day. This helps and keeps your heart rate and blood pressure low. Hang in there...your coming off quite a bit, and you may need some help with the anxiety. He also put me on Lexapro 20mg, but it will take a week for that to start to work and about six weeks to really fully work. You've made a good move...stay strong and talk with the people on here!
The wine might help, or a beer before bed. Break the xanax in half and see if it helps with anxiety, but cuts down on the drowsiness. How much xanax are you taking?
would drinkin a beer or glass of wine help maybe, im not a big drinker but is it worth a shot. i take xanax but after so many im zombie-ish.
I used to take that much too....it takes 4-7 days for worst sym then 60 days back to normal..
