here i am at day 6 and still alive. feeling a little better than yesterday but know that I could make a bad decision any time soon.......
well, there is always alcohol right. my favorite quote has always been "alcohol will intensify this effect". Damn - I AM screwed!
I don't know why he is offering Suboxone after 5 days but hear him out. He may have plans such as counseling, etc. that would be great.
By mental I mean that once we stop taking the pills, addiction does not go away. The physical withdrawal eventually goes away and then we start craving the feelings that the pills gave us, etc. If there is no recovery care program in place, what is to stop us from getting more pills, thinking we can take just one? Your mind will play tricks on you...
I agree with IBK if you have already made it threw the first 5 days. I would look into NON medicated recovery programs .Has he mentioned something like aa/na or an addiction therapist?
Wouldnt my dr know if i dont need it? I am seeing him on Sat. Btw - this is the dr. that gave me the vics and is now talking about the sub.
What mental outlook? **** is bleek.
If you are 5 days clean, there is no reason to go on Suboxone. The physical withdrawal is almost over. Please be patient and give your body a break. You were on the pills a long time and it will take a bit of time for your body to heal. At this point, I am more concerned with your mental out look. Have you considered any sort of outside support to help you stay clean?
not sure - havent had a thing since sat - this is day 5 clean. feeling better than the last few days but no energy. i was taking about 15 - 20 5/500's a day for about the last 5 years
I dont know whether sub is the answer for you .Do you think you can get off them without it .Have you tried? Sub is very helpful for some finding a good doctor is really important.Alot of sub doctor wont take ins and its very exspenisve
Suboxone is a choice if you feel that you can't go ct, or taper, and stay clean. Please do your homework on it and ask as many questions as you need to. It IS a maintenance drug and you will eventually have to go through withdrawal from it as well.
So, think about what you want to do and the members here will share their experience with you. Good luck and hope to see you stick around.
