i agree with you lu once you get off the pain is not as bad because you have convinced yourself your in all this pain to feed your addiction and have a ligit reason too. have you tried to get them to put you on anything for yourr nerves they put me on neuroten (spelling prob not correct) but it made a huge difference. i know my pain is not as sever as that but that may be something to ask about.
Hi there...
I hear your pain and hopelessness, and I'm sorry you are suffering so much. My heart goes out to you. The best advice I can give you is to arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible regarding your health. Have you tried alternative pain therapies? I existed in pain on opiates for many years before I found holistic ways to manage my pain more effectively and have a MUCH better quality of life. I find my pain is significantly less 3 months post opiates...But that's me. Only you know what is right for you. It takes work, time, patience, and trial and error to find what works for you ...But you are worth it and your life is worth it! You deserve to be happy.
Sending support and prayers..
Lu
Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry you're in such pain every day. I know how debilitating and frustrating that is. My mother has similar issues with her back. She takes 40-50 mgs of hydrocodone per day and she's been having to increase the dose because of her tolerance. About a year ago, she was given the opportunity to go on a morphine pump, the kind they implant inside of you.
She LOVED it. None of the digestive problems associated with ingesting the
opiates orally. Unfortunately, her body rejected it and they took it out so she's back to the pills. Look into the pump. In my opinion, you need strong pain meds to function, and that's what opiates are for. If you don't get answers from your doctor, find another one. My mom had to go through a few to find one who actually cared about her well-being. No offense to all the Docs out there, but some are good and some aren't. I hope you find some relief.
