My hubby just told me that the urgent care centers in our area offer B-12 shots for $20. No other charges associated with it. No prescription needed. He said one of the guys he used to work with just had to fill out a form and pay for the shot. He was allowed to get one a month.
The B-12 shot I got today helped enormously so you might want to call around and see if you have something like that available. You can tell them the truth, that you are going clean and sober and have energy problems or you can keep that to yourself and just tell them that your energy has been very low lately and that you don't want to hype yourself up with coffee all day (which I'm sure is true too).
Hope that info helps a bit!
Hey Good. I just finished my 7th day and I'm noticing the same thing. We are used to the energy we would get from taking our pills and I think it takes a bit of time for the brain and body to get back to normal. In my case my energy has been better in the morning and then wham!!! No energy at all. My doctor told me to take a B-12 shot...that has helped tremendously. If you can't get that maybe try getting a really good B Complex vitamin. I used to take those in pill form daily and it was helpful with energy.
If you have time in the morning maybe try a morning walk and start getting those endorphins working earlier in the day.
I know I'm not being really helpful here...just wanted you to know that this seems to be fairly normal. That is sad that all I can come up with is B Complex and morning walks. I'm sure you'll get tons of advice from people who have been clean longer than we have been a little later on.
I'm that way too. If u find out why let me know.
