welcome...there are plenty of good people here who have been clean for alot longer than me..im still tapering down my levels too and in a few days will be cold turkey...im scared to..didnt do so well at my first attempt at quitting..that ws last week.but im not going to stop . ive got to quit to get my life back..have you read the thomas recipe on the bottom of the forum page? there are some things you can do to eas the withdrawl pains..keep posting...we need each other here and its amazing to see how many people come and go never to be heard from again sad really, since that usually means they have relapsed are too ashamed to come back...please dont let thet be you...you are not alone...your pal...
Thanks so mucn DTL, Im NOT going to give in....I NEED my life back! I have 6 blues left, (did one in the morning and one to sleep last night) and im hoping the VA is going to give me Methadone, but the VA takes SOOOO Long to do ANYTHING! I DO have a buddy that can get me Methadone for $5 a pop so I am going that route for now....Last night was Pure HELL! Cold Sweats, Leg and body Jerks/Spasms...UGH....but Im going to do this...I HAVE too...Im running my business into the GROUND buying 10-15 Blues a day at $30 a pop!!!!! I can NOT keep going on like this....I cant remember what it feels like not to be on these damn things...

harry, good for you wanting to reclaim your life. be strong. you can do this. the desire to be clean has to be stronger than the desire to use.
please dont use the methadone. that is a much,much,much worse drug to withdraw from. yes you are going to have sweats,leg jerks, not beable to sleep all part of the detox and withdrawal. treat the symptoms, hot baths with epsom salts, magnesium/potassium supplements,eat bananas,taking walks,hylands restful leg supplements,stay away from people who use. cut off all connections.
you can do this. go to support groups,counseling, you need support.
