Perforated septum that hurts extremely bad......

I have a hole in the cartilage of my nose the size of an pencil eraser and it hurts like hell everyday!  I have tried all nasal gels, all otc medications for pain, I even sprayed bactine up my nose last night hoping it would numb the pain. It did for a few mins then started hurting again.  I can't sleep, I have a sore throat constantly I think because of too much air that goes to my throat when I breathe through my nose.  This is the worst pain ever. I got this hole by snorting pain pills (Oxys mainly) for a year and I recently stopped because of the damage it's causing my nose.  I have an appt to see an ENT on thurs but need relief now!  Please help!

I have read something of this.. never done it myself. But posters said the pain was extremely awfull and severe.. they all said u have to wait out the pain, which lasts about month..the ones who went through it said the pain was mind boggling. None found much relief ... only time solved it..  bless ur heart! Hang in there!

You could Try some lidocaine gel although I'm not sure it's OTC...I just dont remember...Look for an ointment that's topical  and containing any kind of numbing agent.  Try to leave it alone so a scab can form and that will help.  Breathe through your mouth. Try to get an appt sooner.  Go to an Urgent Care and they can prescribe a topical anesthetic.  Take Motrin or Aleve.
I can understand why you used the bactine; we will do anything when we're in pain...Hope you feel better soon-

Well I have not had this problem but all I can think of is maybe a wet tissue or cloth to plug up that nostril. Just don't make it to small so that you suck it up into your nose to far, or choke on it. I hope you feel better soon.

What kind of help are you wanting on here. Sorry, you just said you know what caused this, Im not understanding your post, your seeing and ENT doctor Thursday, Im sure they will fix you up.
Spraying bactine up your nose is about the dumbest thing you could possibly do.
