That is really quite powerful. It doesn't matter what people say. You OWN hope. It's always in your hand. No one can take that away from you, not with words, not with thoughts, not even with actions. Because you own it, it's yours. A simple and beautiful truth.
Beautiful post Heather and congratulations on your hard won clean time. While I don't use GOD as my higher power, I definitely have faith in one and heard the voice in my darkest hour which called me to my journey of recovery. Bless you sweet girl. May you enjoy many many more years of clean life and boundless freedom. You deserve it.

Hi Heather. I'm very sorry to read about your friend My Prayers will be going up for him !! You are right time does not equate recovery 1 day at a time is all we can do.. Today I choose not to use. Congrats on your recovery Heather I feel Proud for you ! I was very worried for you awhile ago and I'm so Glad to see that you hooked up with some great support groups !! Heather, your story has my eyes tearing and a lump in my throat. So in awe of your journey and filled with gratitude for where you are today. Get yourself busy today and cling close to your sober friends for support. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Prayer's are headed your way.
I am not a year clean I smoked weed 142 days ago. I have been in NA for 8 months and have a HUGE amazing family, I am working step 3 right now...may do more on it tonight since I want to use today...I dont have to use but the craivings are there
even one day is a miracle, and clean time doesnt equal recovery a guy with over a year a friend is on a ventilator today and may have brain damage due to no oxygen he wanted to try meth one more time...Thanks for the kind words
Hi great post my wife has been a christian for 26yrs she got clean and stays clean with the power of Jesus she is focused reads her bible every day we are active in our church now for me im a believer but I have the disease of addiction so it takes work to recover its like the old saying goes if a drunken horse thief get clean you still have a horse thief A yr clean is ausum and I for one are proud of you any time a addict does not you is a merical keep doing what your doing it is working for you if you want to grow try N/A it will help take away all of the addictive ways it will be life changing...Gnarly

Girl!! I am so PROUD of YOU!! I have watched and listen to you since the day you joined on here. There was something about you that just made me want to take you under my own wing (like a Mom).lol YOU have GROWN so much and sound so much better then ever..
I know there are many of us on here that had MANY Tragic things happen in our Life or during our Sobriety..BUT we just kept on pushing through each one day by day. Surrendering to our God is a must!! I would not be here today if it was not for that and ALL the outside Support I get..This site too is just full of Caring, Sharing SOULS and YOU are One of them..I love U Girl and you just keep on doing what you know is right for You!!
