dreams

I was just curious, does anyone else get these weird dreams?  I have been clean now for 10 months and every once in awhile I have crazy dreams.  It is usually either I find opiates in my pocket or purse or I am panicking that my script is empty prematurely and I wake up in a cold sweat.  I do love the fact that after I wake up I realize that that was my old life and Drugs do not rule me anymore.  I just want to hear others have experienced this too. Let me know

Hi more_fiend,

I have always had quite vivid dreams, but since detoxing a little over six months ago, I have had some pretty intense ones.  I had one just last week that I was out at a bar with some colleagues from work and I decided to have a drink.  I thought, what's the harm with just one - then I found myself in the dream walking out of the bar feeling so guilty and just kicking myself because I had over six months clean.  When I woke up, I had to sit there for a second to make sure it was not real - yeah, dreams of this sort are normal.  I do some dream therapy with a therapist - it can really help to get to the deep meaning of dreams - and it's interesting and even fun at the same time.

Congrats on your clean time!

Drug dreams and nightmares are very common after quitting drugs. I don't get them like I did the first month clean, ( they happened almost every night at first) but they still pop up every now and then still. They can be scary, I used to dream of using and woke up thinking I had relapsed and sweating and craving too.

Congrats on those 10 months clean, that is awesome:)
