First time

Hello I'm mike. 23 y-o. I've been a drug addict since around 14-16. Never quit drugs all together besides when I went to basic training/AIT. I've been taking suboxone for close to a year now. I've given my life to God. He keeps telling me I have to quit. I know he loves me regardless, but I'm intentionally doing wrong by doing drugs. I've decided to quit. Cold turkey is the only way that works for me. Its day 3. I'm not feeling as horrible as I expected i would. I cant keep my legs still. Feel aggravated. Very tired/unmotivated. Body aches (mostly legs). Guess im looking fir some advice for symptoms and some support. Thanks in advice guys/girls.

Hi Mike,
It's a good thing you are doing. Day 4 already, WOW. I am just at the beginning of the process, but from what I've read (and will experience soon enough) it sounds like you have only another day or so until you start coming out the other end of it. Feel proud of yourself!! You are a winner!

Hey Mike, just noticed this thread. I too jumped from 4mgs of Subs, it's a wild ride for sure but so doable with enough want in your heart. You hit the nail on the head on your earlier reply, you felt great when out at church and worse when back home! The trick is to keep busy, an active mind is a happy one! You have youth on your side, you made the choice and weren't forced into it, both massive in my book! Try getting an exercise routine set up, this will pull you through faster, eat healthy unprocessed foods and keep well hydrated. The best piece of advice I was given was to completly surrender yourself to the process, just roll with it, you'll be out the other end clean and happy in no time. Well done thus far, keep up the great work my friend, ;)

Awesome job Mike!  Congrats on your new "path".  There is absolutely nothing I can add to the great advice above.  This is certainly the place to
be for support though and I just want to add mine to the roster.  Prayers of hope and peace out to you young dude.  I think you're on day 5 now and fyi "5" is when a lot of us felt it was "the" turning point in the "physical" aspect of the w/d's.  You're quite young and as someone above said that's
something you've really got going for you as far as healing goes.

You know you've got this and your MH army of angels are right behind you!
We're all in this together.  :o}  hugs

I came off 4 mg. Just got out of church about 2 hours ago. Wow! My withdrawal symptoms were gone! Then I got home and they started coming back lol but that's ok I'm trusting God. I'm about to lay down. Might take some sleep meds but I'm gonna try it natural for now. Day 5 awaits me in the morning. Goodnight brothers and sisters. May God protect you tonight and give you revelation through your dreams. Thank you again for all of the support!!! Have a blessed night. See you guys in the morning!!!

Congrats on day 4! What dose did you jump off of from the sub? Keep pushing through you can do this! Take a nice hot bath with Epsom salts and stay hydrated. You are doing great and don't let the mental get to you keep your mind busy watch a funny movie or listen to some music. You are doing great!

Day 4. Ugh. I feel like garbage. Part of me is saying "just take a little bit you will feel better" but my better half knows the ONLY reason I feel this way is from the sub. But I'll push on through :) I've got God, and you guys!!! Thank you soo much for the support and advice! My doc gave me some vistaril. Its a non-narcotic anxiety med. Basically a prescription benadryl. It does help with the restlessness, but not much. Gonna try and take it easy today. Might have to start a new job in a couple of days :( hope I feel better by then (at least a little). Take care and may God bless you!

I had the worst restless legs! I still get it at night sometimes too.
Eat lots of bananas.
Drink tons of poweraide
Take a really hot bath with epsom salts then apply icy hot gel to sore areas (fir me it was my quads) then wrap really tight with ace bandages.
Repeat as necessary
Good luck!

Hello and welcome! Are you able to eat? Protein shakes, I used muscle milk helps. Look at the amino acid protocol.

Magnesium will help some with the legs. Exersize is really important, it will help the RLS, insomnia and energy. But the energy and lack of motivation does take time. You'll learn to hate that word, time. But it does heal!

Valerian Root is great for nerves, sleep. Ginger Root for tummy issues. Immodium!!!

Day three is great! Keep posting for support! You're so young. That is a huge plus on your side!!
