Anyone know good sites/writings about conquering our problem I can waste some time reading? Was reading the big book - need some fresh material for a few hours. thanks

I actually started sleeping again, so I missed this one. I was awake for 20 days straight in my detox and I read everything I could find. I'm amazed that I only scratched the surface of knowledge about addiction disease. I have been reading Terrance Gorski's model of recovery. There's a lot on line, but I ended up buying a $10 book on amazon that is changing my views of PAWS and relapse. Relapse syndrom starts long before relapse use and knowing the signs is helping me see how I am slipping back into old ways of thinking. I also started writing my own poems, like Leaveurfearsbehind shared. I kept trying to crack that code that opens the door to freedom. I can't say that I'm joyous and free, but I believe it's possible for me now. I laid awake and reminded myself of what would likely happen if I kept using and what is possible if I stopped. Many of us knew what was right, long before we chose to act on it. Sounds like you're doing what it takes. Time heals all things and time is on your side.

That's GOOD.....first time for me reading that.  I have a "letter from my addiction" posted in my journals that is powerful, too, but I like this one for different reasons.  It rhymes (lol) and I like that, too.

heyy evolv i tend to be awake at night as well and i hate it!!  i read EVERYTHING i can on our problem. i normally google some phrases or if something is on my mind i try an learn abt it! although i dont kno any websites i do , do the same thing as u! :) hope u get to sleep soon ( me too) try and have a good night !

i only come here.. try watching a funny movie..and or add some music to your reading.. its 9 pm here i got the yawns but feel like i cant sleep, i just tryed some melotonin (sp) hope that works ...   im in the same boat .. im watching lord of the rings for the 500000000000000 billionth time if feels like lol
