Do you think you could get one or two days off of work? Maybe go cold turkey on Friday, go into work and then go home sick. Withdrawals look like a flu so they wouldn't be surprised if you call in again on Monday and/or Tuesday. By Wednesday you could probably tough it out at works if need be.

hello and welcome here, it is a great place.  I am totally addicted to it.  ;)  Ok, can you get to AA/NA type meetings?  They are free, and thousands swear by them.  You do need support from loved ones, friends, whomever you can get, plus aftercare.  I am so sorry to hear the recovery ctr was so harsh!  You would think they would have helped..hmm..
well, try to talk to your doctor for sure, get a tapering plan from him and some support.
Great luck to you, and God bless :)

I thought I was going to leave with a plan of action.  She was actually no help at all.  I have also seen a psychiatrist.  I made another appt with her today to talk about the recovery center.  I just want someone to help me.  I need a distinct plan of action and someone to be accountable to.  I stumbled upon this site today and actually feel it will be more helpful to talk to others who have been through it and/or are going through it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful...

Go to your doctor, work out a taper plan and get some meds to help the WDs.  Unless you are super tough.....I don't think you could work and go cold turkey!  I am assuming you are talking about oxycontin?  If so, and you were to go CT, you would be in for a hellish few days.  And I have been thru detox more times than I would like to think about!
