45 days clean!!

Hi everyone. Just in the past few days, I've had some fantastic improvements in how I feel and how I approach each day. First, I'm sleeping better, which has been my big bugaboo since day one. I don't have perfect sleep patterns, but then again, I never did!. I do have nights now where I get 5 or 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep, which is HUGE!. It's not every night, but it happens enough now that I feel seriously good in the morning! Mornings used to be pure hell. I would wake up in W/Ds and the very first thing I would think about was taking some pills and then wait until they kicked in before I could even think. I'm feeling better pretty much across the board. I have days where I get the old cravings, and I have days where I  get anxious, but it's not every day. Today I feel really good. I'm eating normally, exercising, and still taking the vitamins and aminos.  Being clean is so worth the struggles of withdrawal. Today, I guard my sobriety like my life depended on it...because it does. Thank you to ALL of you for sharing your experience, strength and hope. We are doing this...TOGETHER.

Congrats Lost!  So strange you mentioning the morning and thinking about the pills.  You know I was so programmed to when i would take my pills, that still to this day, Day 66, almost every morning when I am getting ready for work, I think I have to take my pills.  Then I used to take another one when I would get in the car and head to work, and I still occasionally reach for my purse.  Talk about pure addict behavior at its finest!

I am so blessed to be sober and to have found wonderful people like you along the way.

Well isnt this a great post!  Congrats on your clean time!  The eagles said it best "So often times it happens that we live our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key".  Isnt it great when we realize we are in control of our destiny and we release those chains~~~sara

Hey congrats on breaking free your plan sounds good and you do also......I know we beat this drum alot but what are you doing about aftercare?? it is a critical step to long term sobriety your off the pills but if your like me and most of us we need to change the very way we think and reson to overcome this thing get pluged into something weather it be N/A or addiction therapist or one of the  other ways but put at least 1hr aside each week for your sobriety......I wish you a long healthy recovery become pro/active in it good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
