gabapentin for withdrawals

Hi everyone. I'm 12 hours into day 2. I am taking gabapentin and feel pretty decent. The creepy crawls are the thing that just makes me crazy. I have the gabapentin that I take at bedtime 300 mg. When originally prescribed it was 3 times a day. I couldn't do that. It made me too sleepy and depressed. But for withdrawal it has been amazing. I am in a big truck so no hot baths or heating pads. The gabapentin has saved me. I even slept most of the day yesterday and about 5 hours last night. I still feel pretty rough. Flu like and the stupid pain every where, but not what it could be. Taking all the vitamins and Gatorade and vitamin water. Today will be harder as we will be moving. We were lucky to be stopped all day yesterday. Just ready to be done.

It's officially day 4! 84 flipping hours. Had a rough night last night. Trying not to wake hubby up in this little space. Should be home this weekend! Can't wait to get to my heating pad! This rebound pain is the pits! Hopefully  on the down side of this!

Thanks for the ambien warning. I've only taken it a day or 2 in the past. I have horrible insomnia and I've taken it to break the cycle. Why doesn't anyone ever tell you about that kind of stuff before prescribing it?

You're gonna get better pretty quick after today!  72 hours is usually when it has peaked out and will be letting up from then on, except for longer acting opiates like methadone and suboxone!  You're doing good.  Hang in there, and watch that Ambien.  It can bite you in the butt really quickly!

Just for the record, I hate day 3. Was just saying to hubby that while this stinks, it could be much worse! Almost thru this day!

Good morning. I slept all night again. That's just crazy! I swear this gabapentin is magic! I also took an ambien. Slept for 8 hours. I feel like crap when I'm up, but at least I'm sleeping. Only 50 hours in. It makes a ton if difference. Maybe its good karma for fighting going back on these things. Whatever it is I'll take it. Ok day 3 let's get this over with!

Rosy you are nuts! I can never sleep when we are moving. Way too bumpy. Our suspension is crap and every little crack in the road about throws you off the bunk.

I loved the noise and vibrations I guess. I'm always the oddball. I am here if u need to talk and I'm with ariley cheering loudly for ya!

Thanks girl.  Too bouncy to sleep, but I did come lay down for a bit. My poor hubby was so on the fence about getting them. He cant stand to see me suffer. I made him promise no more! But no way after this long. It was time to do a real pain check anyway.

I am soooo proud of you!! That could have easily bit you in the butt. I'm so glad that you cancelled it! No sense in going through this all over again. Hopefully you will be able to get some sleep since you pooped yourself out.

Yep, us trucker mamas gotta stick together! I hope that you can have a nice relaxing day. Make your hubby baby you! We are on our way to St. Louis to pick a load up going to Longmont, CO. I'm nervous because of the bad floods out there. We may end up floating!

I feel you pain girl! Try to stay as occupied as you can whether it be talking on here, watching funny movies, whatever. Otherwise you will just sit and dwell on your symptoms and it makes it worse. Just hang in there. You are almost through the worst of this! Make him stop as much as time allows to get out and stretch and walk a little. If you can't, then stand up and do some stretches in the truck. I know how awful this is. It makes the detox a thousand times worse. Just try to keep your head up and stay as positive as possible. Look at the bright side of this, no RLS and you are sleeping! That is amazing! I wanted to chop my legs off and didn't sleep for almost a week. SO, you are doing good. I'm here cheering you on from my truck!! ;)

Not having fun. Ready to be out of this damn bouncy truck! Not helping at all! The waves are getting worse and lasting longer! I know its normal. Not being afraid of it makes it a bit easier. Just glad I got some sleep stored up for what's next!
