Sub detox

I have worked my way down to about 2mg of Suboxone a day but problem is I have this split into four daily doses. If I try taking all 2mgs in morning I still have to take another dose or so that evening and night, so I am taking much more than just 2mgs. I know when tapering most try to get dosing only once daily so should I up my dose until I can only take one daily dose then work down from there. I don't see how it would be possible to stop while still having to take doses 3-4 times a day no matter how small the dose, is that the general consensus?
Also I have been on opiates a total of 15yrs straight, the last two years have been Suboxone but most of that time was methadone. I went to rapid detox and when I came back I felt awesome for about two weeks, I was doing everything I wanted to do and then I started feeling the withdrawal from the methadone something fierce, it continually got worse each day and I made it six weeks and still felt like total death. No sleep and nothing but cringing when I moved from the air hitting my body. I would have never thought after six weeks you could still feel like day one of withdrawal. So my other question is how is Suboxone withdrawal compared to methadone withdrawal.

AD meds effect everyone a bit different so I'm not sure that anecdotal stories are going to provide much usable info.  I took effexor  while I was on Suboxone and I didn't notice any difference.  I've tried the same AD when I wasn't on anything with the same result, nothing!

By the way, I appreciate the comment on splitting up doses by pillguy, your comment makes sense now that I think about the half life of Suboxone

Does anyone know the effects of an anti depressant on someone using Suboxone? I know when I tried taking one while on methadone I felt like I would go into withdrawal as soon as I took the anti depressant. I am going to talk to my doctor about this next week but usually they just tell you you'll have to try and see how it reacts. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Suboxone is a very powerful opiate for the number of mgs in a dose.  There are all sorts of equivalence charts but as a rough rule of thumb think of 1mg of Suboxone being roughly equal to 25 mg of morphine.  Then there's the added complication of Suboxone being a long half-life drug, which usually makes the withdrawal longer if not harder.  I've never heard someone say they jumped from 2mg and it was a walk in the park.  I was on it for 2 years.  I tapered down to .25 mg  (1/8 of a 2mg strip)  My acute withdrawal was moderate, lasting about a week.  Then a couple months of lethargy and depression.  That first month was tough.  I've heard of all sorts of dosing regiments, once a day, twice a day. etc.  Because the drug has such a long half-life I'm not sure it will matter that much.   Suboxone does act as an opiate so the fewer doses per day is theoretically better.  IMHO, 2mg is where the work starts.  I would recommend going slowly, working your way down to those very low doses.  I've been off Suboxone for the last 7 months
