the same thing can happen when starting methadone if you don't have much of a tolerance
Thank you so much for the info. He has just started this program. It is nice to know there is someone out there we can talk to. God Bless and much love and luck in your endevers.
Apparently it's fairly common - there are some other posts on it. Definitely speak with the Dr., but don't be surprised if he/she doesn't have an answer. A lot of the issues with Suboxone apparently didn't come out until post-FDA-approval. Suboxone has excellent support in my experience if you call their 1-800 number. The throwing up for me only occurred when just starting it or when on too high of a dose. Opiates in general make some people sick, so it's not unusual. If he's vomiting non-stop, then you should take him to urgent care or ER because of dehydration, possibility of rupturing esophagus, etc. There are plenty of anti-nauseants they can give him and they can keep him hydrated with an IV until the vomiting stops.
Sorry to hear this. I think he should call his prescribing physician and let him know what is going on.
