d-phenylalanine

I'm just wanting to know if anyone has ever used this or is currently using this for chronic pain controll or for opiate substitute ?????? Some interesting reading on these sites.

doctorsofusc.com/condition/document/21664   or  disabled-world.com/artman/publish/dl-Phenylalanine

And of course,  consult your Doctor before starting anything,  as this could be a bad situation for someone with health problems and not under a Doctors' care.  :)

Thanks for your information madtram,  I was hopeful that someone would have an experience with this amino.  I am glad it helped with the tramadol withdrawl too.  I think people are just searching for something that will help with the detox and maintainence, I know I have been looking for something that will shut the screaming receptors up !!!  Chronic pain seems to eventualy lead me back to the old opiates and it would be nice to avoid staying on them for very long.   I do hope it is doable for me as I am currently on Lexapro and Remeron,  and the dpa  converts to alot of aminos that effect the dopamine/norph  in the body.  Will ask my Dr abt. this when next visit.  Thanks again

I have been using dpa since coming off tramadol a year ago.  I have torn rotator cuffs on both sides & my work involves a lot of time at the computer.  I have been taking 5 grams per day & until recently had found it kept the throbbing pain manageable although the effects are very subtle.

I can't say whether it is more than placebo effect whereas for me the effects of other psychoactive supplements like St John's Wort & Inositol are noticeable.

I have had to go on to Celebrex to stay at the computer for as long as I need to so it hasn't been a complete solution for me.
