9 weeks off Methadone.

So, today marks 9 weeks off 90mg of Methadone.
I quit cold turkey and I can't believe it's been 9 weeks! I haven't relapsed, which is a huge accomplishment. Killin' it!
:)

Anyway, I wanted to ask a weird question.
My body and brain are starting to get back to normal, but ever since getting off this ****, I have a high sensitivity to pain.
Especially to sex.
Can that be a symptom of detox?
I tried researching and found nothing.
Also, I can't focus on things.
My brain is going crazy. I'm always thinking about this detox process.
I feel like I'm being selfish and it's hurting my relationship.
I have a fear that I'll never be my old self again.
Has anyone else experienced these things, even being over 2 months into detox?

I feel a lot better today, but I think it comes in waves.
I can't really complain about sleep. I get around 7 hours a night. I toss and turn and wake up frequently, but I'll take it over insomnia.

Sometimes, I can't tell if my symptoms are due to depression or my body. I know my brain chemistry definitely isn't right from being on opiates/opioids so long.
I have trouble concentrating and my memory is awful.
But I have hope because of people like you!

I know I'm holding myself back because I don't exercise often and I'm not eating the healthiest diet.
But I got out today and walked for about 30-45 mins, which was nice.
I'm taling that Calm Support stuff, only because it was $80 and I don't wanna waste it.
Plus, it has good vitamins in it.

Well, thank you for your reply.
It makes me happy to hear from people like you, who got over the hump and are thriving!

Hi  well cudos for getting off the methadone  and 9 weeks is huge...you sound really well for 9 weeks out  as for the pain  any time you come off narcotics  your brain dose not have the artificial endorphins any more and without out them you often get ''rebound pain''  old ingerys often flare up and a high sensitivity to pain is not uncommon with time your brain will rewire itself and the natural endorphins will start to flow again  you can jump start the process by working out a good hard cardio exorsize will give it a boost  methadone is a ruff detox  the fuzzy bran can take a wile  it took a good 90 days for most of it to go away for me so hang in there...how you sleeping??? the lack of sleep plays a big roll in how you feel the next day  it was a good 2 mo before my sleep returned  you may want to try ''whey protein mix''  it is only 16 bucks for a 2lb can at walmart  it will give you the raw protein for energy and a healthy dose of the amino acids to heal your brain  drink 2 a day  just a scoop in a glass of milk  the chocolate flavor is good  if you have questions just ask where here to help.....Gnarly
