Suboxone tapering

I have been on suboxone for a year jan-2014. My dr has decided that i need to go into a rehab because i also take adderall. He knew this & now after a year it has become a problem with him. My dr that gives me add says i need to take it. I have been on it for 19 years. My suboxone dr will not prescribe me anymore & i cant find another dr.Since nov, 2013 i still had 29 suboxone strips. I have cut the pieces so small & tapered down. Will i still have bad withdrawels? I hav 5 days worth left & everything i hav been reading on the internet is scaring me to death. I did quit the loritabs & klonipen & hav no desire for them, but i wont stop my adderall. If i hav bad wd symptoms, i will go back on pain pills. I am disabled, but bearing the pain because of abuse. i'm sure some of you know what i mean, It's easy to fall into that. If anyone knows what kind of withdrawels that i may have after i have been tapering for 3 months already, please let me know. God bless all of you and thank you for reading this.

Does anyone take or has taken adderall with suboxone? My dr says no! The dr who gives me my adderall says that there is no problem with it. I have taken it for almost 20 years. My dr is not one of those pill pushers either. He is very concerned & cautious. When i had to change dr's because of a move, he lowered my dose from 30mg to 20mg. Im just wondering what any of your dr's out there are saying about adderall if any of you were on it. Thanks a lot and if you know of any dr's that will let me take both somewhere near Tuscaloosa,Al i will appreciate it, but not the dr in Hamilton,Al. That whole bunch is strange. I guess they want to help but they need to look at the paitent. I stopped loritabs & klonepin. Iv had none since jan-13. And God knows i need my addies. Im a complete blank without them. Thanks and God bless.    Laleta" Lane"

Hi and thanks. No im just running my mouth. I hav'nt had a pain pill since jan-13. Not even a non-narcodic one. I just use tylenol. Actualy, and im almost ashame to admit it, but i dont hurt nearly as bad as i thought i did. I believe the pain pills made me hurt worse. Maybe it was all in my pea brain at the time. Suboxone is absolutely wonderful for opiate withdrawels. I never had not one wd symtom. But, i wont stop my adderall, so he will not prescribe me anymore. I guess its time to get off suboxone. I can do it. Thanks for your support. God bless.

Thank you so much for your reply. Surly to God i can make it a week or so, even feeling like crap. I'm 59 years old and back in my younger days hangovers were worse than some withdrawals. I married a guitar player 41 years ago and always hung out at the clubs with him. Thank God thats over. I daughter, 3 grandkids & 1 greatgrand & 1 on the way. I gotta get better. Thank you & God bless.   Lane

Hi & Welcome,

No one can say for sure what your physical withdrawal will be like. Everyone is so different. Still, the symptoms should not be as bad because you tapered.

What concerns me is that you stated you will go back on the pain meds if the withdrawal is bad. You haven't started and already you sound defeated. At least give it a chance. You can't keep going on this merry-go-round of one pill to another. It will catch up with you and there will be hell to pay.

I hope it all works out for you.

Hi and Welcome!  I was on Subs for just under 2 years after using opiates for 2 years.  I tapered to around 1.5 - 1 before I jumped off and went for it.  WD from Subs is worse than the initial opiates.  I don't want to scare you, but it's my truth.  If you get worked about it it can cause the WD to be worse.  Check out the Thomas Recipe, it does help.  You can expect to feel really shi**y for a week, and it does get better.  It can be done, believe it, you can do it too.  Please continue to post with more questions.  There are lots of people here that can give you more advice and we can help you through this!!
