okay I am trying to stop taking pills I was on day 3 and took 6 hydros will this start the w/ds over or just backtrack one day or something like that... I am not feeling as bad today as I was yesterday.. im so ready to get over this dark place in my life before I lose everything please help

I just thought I'd send some encourangement your way as well... I have been there. It's not easy when you first stop using but it does get easier as days go by. When I read your post saying that you take pills to prevent boredom, I did too. In the beginning of my addiction, I only took Vicodin when I had a migraine, then I started taking them if I thought I might get a migraine but it quickly moved to taking them just in case I got a migraine. I took them for when I had a speech to give or party to attend or a deadline to meet. I would take them for just about any reason I could muster up after awhile. 6 yrs later I realized that it had progressed into something bigger than me. At my worst, I was taking (6) 10mg Percocet tabs 2 to 3 times a day. When I quit, I did have to change a lot of things in my life like making a new plan to live in the true self first and foremost but create a new routine and go to new places to avoid triggers. The whole world of addiction is insane....and we all know what the definition of insane is: doing something over and over again expecting different results. You will get through this....

well just like you my back was hurting one day at work and this lady that worked with me gave me 2 norcos and I took those it was on after that... I now neeed them just to go day to day and its not even fun anymore its crazy how much money I was spending on them working 10 hours a day and still borrowing money here and there... I mean thousands of dollars... and for what just because I was scared to be sick...idk everytime I get a little time off of them I just take em again from being bored... its crazy how fast it turns into everyday again....

The most important thing you can do is protect you and your sobriety.  You are going to have to let these people know not to offer you anything.  Be firm in letting them know that it is not an option for you any longer.  

3 days is great.  You are almost past the worst of the physical w/d.  In a few days when you go back to school you should be feeling better, but the mental part will start to kick in as you adjust to living without pills.  The availability of pills will call out to you to take just 'one'.  This is when you need a support system to help you stay resolute in your decision to stay clean.  Can you hit an AA or NA meeting around your schedule at school?  We preach this alot on here, but there is a reason.  Getting off the pills is the easy part compared to the days, weeks and months afterwards dealing with life.  

Were you taking the pills for fun or to escape things going on in your life?  Or were they originally prescribed to you?   I started out getting some here and there and over the years I got to liking them.  Like turned in to want and then need.  The I used to live and live to use.  What a nightmare!

well one more day under my belt got up this morning drank a 5 hour energy idk if anyone else feels the same but they really help... my body hurts today and keep having to run to the bathroom but it seems to be getting better...only thing that sux is I have to return to school on Monday and everyone gonna be tryin to hand me pills but just gotta say no...they will always be around if I cant say no there is no chance of being sober.... Well I hope it gets better over the 3 days I have left before I have to go bak to school..

Hi I just wanted to give some support here..I have been floating around for a while and seen sooo many BLESSING...Just keep checking back here and we can help you..We do care..It is slow right now but they will roll in and out...You can do it!!!! Thank you, well I have been on hydros/ roxis for about 5 years i probably take about 40-100 mg hydro a day or 30-120 mg of roxi... i should have tapered but didn't and don't think i can i just take what i have.. anyways i feel okay today but i know that cant be a good thing... not this early.. i will post on here as soon as i wake up tomorrow thanks for the help and hope i can make it to thirty days like you have

It all depends on several different things, like how many you were taking daily, how many milligrams, how long you were on them?  Can you provide us with more info?  You have came to the right place for help, and the withdraws are very doable.  You will feel like crap for about a week, but it is comparable to the flu and there are alot of people on here who can offer amazing support to help you get through it.  Also there is the Thomas Recipe at the bottom right hand corner of this age that has some great vitamins that you can get to help you through the worst of it.  If you really want to quit, you can do this.  Just a short time ago, I was right where you are and didn't think it was possible and tomorrow I will be clean 30 days.  I never thought I would make it 1 day much less 30.  It gets easier I promise.  There will be more experienced people around real soon to give you even more advice just hang in there.  Good luck to you :)
