How are you doing??
Come back and give us a update.
You got some AWESOME advice from our MH Family here. Pray all is still going forward.

I would encourage you to continue the fight. What you're describing is very common. Its the norm for virtually all people who go through recovery. First the acute withdrawals; its awful but only a week or two at most for short acting opiates. Second, and much harder for me was this lack of energy and anxiety after the acute withdrawals. I'm sure you can relate when I tell you that showering or making a small meal was a herculean task. This should get much better over the next 3 weeks. You don't want to go back. I know that because you just went CT and spent a week going to meetings. I know you didn't do that for the fun of it. You obviously did it because you want to stop this opiate madness. Ask anybody here or anywhere else. Opiate addition is progressive and is not sustainable. It can't continue without ruining your life. You've taken that first gigantic leap. You are past the acute withdrawals. In a few weeks its becomes very tolerable and in a couple months you should have something close to a normal life. There's still work to do after that but you won't feel like crap doing it. One reason many of us post here is that our lives have changed so much for the better and we want to send that message to everyone stuck in that horrible opiate trap. Life is so good without them that its worth fighting with everything your got. its only a few weeks and your free. Hang in there.
I'm going to assume you meant a detox center b/c 8 days isn't enough to do anything other than sort of detox you. Your detoxed and your system is clean, so what did they tell you to do.....I KNOW they told you to find a support system, i.e., A/A, N/A, counseling, etc...What type of aftercare are you doing? You've eliminated the dope but your still left with an addict brain that needs to be taught how to live life and be happy without the use of drugs. Your only going to learn that by going into some type of aftercare. I personally do N/A and it has been a God send. Don't sit at home and do nothing....look up 12 step programs in your area and find one you like! Start recovering.
Best wishes.....
This is my first "normal" day home out of treatment is it common to not feel any sense of change... Today feels so hard and I feel like I have just eliminated the drugs but I have no energy and the same anxiety levels.... Actually feels a little more.
I know I could if I wanted to... I'm moving but I find myself walking in a circle almost!!! I've called a doctor today but I've not yet received a call back for an appointment. I have no doctor at this time so I'm just taking a multivitamin.
You are 8 days clean and sober and that is an amazing accomplishment!! Do you have access to any pills? Get up and move around. Turn on some music. Are you getting any type of aftercare? You are stronger than this craving and will get thru it~
Do you have anyone in your corner? Is there help in your family? Take advantage of the loving people around you. Stick to the plan and keep posting, you can do this. Remember, the next mornings and running for more and more pills. It's no way to live your life. It's great to be rid of pills. Keep the strength and fight for your life back. It's worth it. Best Wishes Always.....ike Keep posting, you have friends here!
