two books will help you a lot . . .
The Mood Cure, by Julia Ross
and
End Your Addiction Now, by Charles Gant
brain chemistry is HUGE when it comes to addiction and recovery. these books can get you where you want to be. proper diet and the right supplements for YOU are critical -- aminos (like L-Tyrosine) are super important, because they are the building blocks for the neurotransmitters that let your brain function like it's supposed to. but there's no one-size-fits-all set of supplements when it comes to the supps. chapter 4 of EYAN has some relatively short questionnaires that will tell you where your deficient and what you need to correct that deficiency.
if your brain chemistry is properly jump started, there's no reason why you can't feel GREAT well before three months -- i did and i was in horrible, absolutely horrible shape when i started, being literally close to death
CATUF
listen to Lulu and everyone please. You can do anything for 3 months if you have to and in the scheme of your life, raising your child what is 3 months? I am 30 days today and I have some days where I absolutely just crash and run out of steam (like yesterday) - I was fine one minute and then it was like someone extinguished my pilot light and it was all I could do to get home and climb in bed - really stinky. I have up days and down days but overall I feel so much better, exhausted but I know my mind and body are clearing. We didn't get ourselves into this situation overnight and we must have patience and understanding that it is going to take some time to get back to center. Take each day as it comes and hang in there. :)
I've missed you Lu!
I picked up some of the protein shakes today so we'll see how it goes.
I've really been fighting the urge this last week.
It's so tough.
I don't know what's happened, things were starting to really look up and then BAM.
I just don't know how much more I can do.
Sarah,
Hi doll..The exhaustion is tough..I hear you. I couldn't take the L-Tyrosine as it made me jittery, but then I can't drink caffeine either..(: They whey protein shakes do help me. I ran out and forgot to restock a few days ago and can really feel the difference.
Exercise helps me the most, as does keeping as busy as possible. Meditation and yoga are key for my energy, and anxiety. It's tough to find the balance between pushing yourself and resting, it does take time. I know three months feels like an eternity, but you are reclaiming and reinventing your life- it's worth it. It does get a bit better every day. It's really helped me to keep a journal to see how far I've come. Whenever I feel like
'WTF??? I'm not getting any better and I'm so frigging tired of it!"
I read my journal and realize I've come leaps and bounds.
Be gentle and patient with yourself, and proud of how far you've come. Stay present and take it one moment at a time...
You've got this.
Love
Lu
hey, you are younger and this goes on your side... and i was talking not like an every day lack of energy but that i was doing ok and then i had some bouts of feeling exhausted, don't worry... i also took the 5thp as a mood help
you will feel better and sure, you can do it... one day at a time ;)
It's frustrating because it's everyday.
I force myself to exercise twice a day when my daughter naps.
3 months seriously?
I dunno if I can do this for 3 months.
I do know that fatigue and depression go hand in hand.
I will continue fighting everyday.
i also felt exhausted, Sarah... don't worry, it is very common.. don't get desperate , i know it can be really frustrating, some people might even have relapsed because of it but things do get better with time, just keep pushing yourself and know that it is a matter of time ( i think that it took me three months to feel much much better, i had good days but other days when i felt suddenly exhausted too so take it easy :)... exercising can help too, healthy eating...
I'm still taking the B Complex but I cannot get by anymore on this lack of energy. It's bad. Really bad and I'm wondering if there isn't something else going on.
I'm willing to try anything at this point!
it is never too late ... the lack of energy and motivation can be tough so give it a try... also vitamin B's can help .. start with the lowest dose of the ltyrosine to see how it affects you, good luck :)
I still take L-tyrosene. I've cut back to 1000mg, once a day. I get a nice energy boost from it. At first it gave me some stomach issues but only for a couple of days. I'm at 45 days. Take care.
