Trying to detox of heroin methadone percocet and tramadol
Hi I'm 16 and my name is Luca. I'm trying to detox off of heroin methadone percocet and tramadol. My parental units don't know nor can they ever. So far I've been puking my guts up and a whole other list of crap. Inpatient detox is out cuz like I said my parents can't know. Can anyone help me? I don't know what to do. I really need the help
If you don't want your parents to know and you need help you can always go to planned parenthood and speak to a doctor tell the receptionist its personal so she let's you talk to doctor.. They will be able to instruct you where you can get help. Good luck.
AFter reading the thread, Im so so so relived you ended up tellin your parents. I too was afraid as hell to tell my parents about the path I went down. Disappointment, anger, sadness....I was worried about it all. HOwever, I told them, and it was the second best decision I ever made. The best decision was the decision to quit oxy. This is a secret you cant keep from them. This is your life. We only get one chance at it. Your young, and you have a future ahead of you. Im on suboxone as well. Subs take about 20 min to work sublingual. You may be in precipitated withdrawl if your feeling worse after taking it. IT will definately ease your withdrawl symptoms, but please have a goal to taper down. Post often, let us know how your doing. We care about you.
Anxious to hear how u are doing! I even been reading ur posts the past few days and just want to know how ur doing. I do have one question.. does it girlfriend use?? Stay away from people places and things that trigger you!! You're so young it breaks my heart to hear what u r going through! We have all been there and we are all here for you to help u get through this! My prayers are with you Don't mess this up! You can do it!!

Yeah, when I started the subs I had to have nothing in my body for 48 hrs....quit pills on a Friday and went in 7:00 a.m. on a Monday morning to start. I understand your getting the subs under a doctors care which I agree with just make sure that you don't stay on them too long. Use them to get through the w/d at the lowest dosage you can stand and then tell your parents to be aware you don't want to stay on these too long. This is just my opinion, but I found it to be real easy to get stuck on the subs....use caution....lowest amount you can stand for the shortest amount of time you can. Good luck to you and please remember you and your parents are in our thoughts! Keep posting....would like to see how you look when you come out on the other side! :)
You are breaking my heart sweetie. I too am a recovering heroin addict. I started when I was fifteen so I know what you are going through. The detox and the sickness will go away in a few days..that is the easy part. Now you need to get into some sort of aftercare. You already admitted that you would use again if your girlfriend left. You need to learn how not to use heroin as a crutch. If you continue like this you will be beside your brother. That is so sad. What worked for me was inpatient treatment. I am talking long term..as long as you can. There you will learn life skills and tools that help you to deal with your emotions without the use of drugs. It scares me that you are now on Suboxone. I don't want to see you use that as a crutch as well. Suboxone is not just a pill. You need help like I said. Please see if your parents are willing to pay for you to go into treatment. And keep posting and let us know how you are doing.I'm praying for you.
Yes it is. Were you in withdrawal when you took the first one? You're supposed to be in moderate withdrawal when you start Sub and it should begin to make you feel better within a few hours. Give it some more time and stick close by-
Just got back from my appointment. I'm going on suboxon for awhile so that I can detox at home. I started earlier but I still feel sick. Isn't this supposed to make u NOT feel sick?
I agree with everything motye said and it took a lot of guts to confess to your folks and that shows great maturity.
As far as your GF goes...can you call or Skype? If she leaves you that will cause you to use? Put safeguards up now so that won't happen! You now know that using is not at all where it's at!

None of us think that when we start....its later, when we realize we cant put it down that we go, ummmm, what happened??? I had friends that could use and when they had enough, they just put it down....i am soooo not one of these people!!!! I wish i was, but im not. I am an addict, like my father before me and grandmother before him. We are wired differently.
Take advantage of the opportunities your about to recieve...dont look at them as a punishment, look at them as a gift. I was 16 when i entered New Orleans Adolescent Hospital, and spent 4 months. I am now 43, and just finding serenity. If i would have paid attention and not fought it, where would my life gone??? The sky was the limit....butttt...who listens at 16? Right?? Listen!!! Listen and learn....

On the bright side I don't have to go to school for awhile but I def miss my girlfriend. I asked my parents if she could come over but they said no and that this is the price I pay. I get that but what if she leaves me before I can see her again? She means the world to me. If I lost her it would put me down this road again. I haven't used for 2 hours now! That's a record for me. But I totally miss my girl. I never wanted to end up like this. I just though ya I can shoot up once or pop a pill once I mean all my friends were doing it. The did is THEY could stop. I couldn't. I started this **** cuz I liked the feeling and it was just a social thing like all kids my age do. Now I have to do all this **** just to survive. Make it through the day. I never though I'd end up like this.
Good Morning! I just read through this and I am so glad that you told your parents! They will help you through it now and its so good they are taking you to a clinic tomorrow! You CAN get through this! It will S**K for awhile but the physical withdrawal will be over and you will start to feel better! Hopefully you will choose not to go back to using once this is over!! You are so young and can have such a wonderful life ahead of you if you stay off of it!!! If you are able to go inpatient that will help so much and will get you on the road to recovery!!! You did the absolute right thing!! So they grounded you...you're too sick to go out anyway. Do you feel better now that you told them? I hope you do because they'll help you. Everyone will be so proud of you when they read this!

I told my parents. I decided to get it over with. I'm grounded indefinitely and their taking me to a clinic tommoro to see if I can detox at home

I wanted to tell you there isnt one single person in here that doesnt totally understand the position you find yourself in right now! We've all done what your getting ready to do. I would also venture that MOST of us are older than you so can see, from an outside perspective, how important it is to have your parents involved. Its hard for u to see cause your in it....totally in it....i can also totally see if my parents were psychologists, where there would be total fear in telling them. A child is NEVER a burden....your sick....and i can imagine your drug use to a sharp, rapid turn for the worse once you lost your brother....its not unheard of. Were all human.

Hang in there man. I was an opiate addict for 7 years. I LOVE ROXY'S ....150mg/day habit. It cost me a job, wife, kids and tons and tons of money. I tried to kick it alone once and it was too much for me to handle alone. I struggles with IMMENSE pain and withdrawls for over a week and then relapsed bc I used alcohol to help and get all drunk one night and blasted 5 blueberries. After another year and half of being a helpless addict I got on suboxone that helped bridge the quitting. I used subs for a year and then slowly weened down to where one strip lasted me about a week and a half n then just quit.....it's been 5 months since I've been clean from it all and I still have NO energy and have trouble sleeping but...I AM FREE......just don't feel your alone man and know your parents would rather know what u r going through and help you rather then lose another son.....my email is ***@****,,,hmu if you need some help or advise or just someone to talk to man.....these so much to life past addiction and u will c clear after time...good luck an
