Is there any way to fix this?

I had a brief but intense affair with drugs about two years ago which lasted a couple months.  I was using a lot of stimulants and some x.  I seemed to emerge from the worst of it in one piece but as I was winding down I had one experience on x that seemed to push me over the edge.  I got psychotic, ended up in the psych ward two weeks later, and for the last two years have been plagued by chronic physical/emotional problems.  My body is uncomfortable much of the time, it often feels like it doesn't have enough air even though I have no trouble breathing.  I seem incapable of feeling good or generating anything resembling adrenaline.  I get worn out from any kind of physical or mental exertion quickly, and this includes activities as seemingly innocuous as reading a book.  I also have peculiar feelings in my spine and the back of my neck and head.  Most of these problems seem to be concentrated on the left side of the body.  I could go on describing the specifics forever but i don't think that would be very useful.  The bottum line is my lifes been reduced to almost constant pain and I seem physically unable to enjoy life or get anything out of it.  I spend much of my time on my back staring at thye ceiling and feel like my whole life has been taken from me and can't imagine living the rest of it in this condition.  Is there any one out there who has had a similar experience with coke or x (I hope it's ok to say those words on this site).  If so do you have any advice?

the red flag to me with your description, esp with the symptoms being "concentrated on your left side", is stroke. I would get an appt with a neurologist. you may have had a small stroke using stimulants.

not too scare you, but I think it also is very important that you get checked out.

jr - from what I understand and have read, both coke and x don't normally cause long term effects.  However, it does sound like you have an exception. It's been two years that you have been feeling this way? It sounds like you have quite a bit of anxiety.  You may also have some imbalances that are causing a lack of endorphins.  I'm not a Dr., but have found a lot of smart folks on this site.  You may want to look into the supplement DLPA. It can be found in the ammino acid thread (which everything in there may be a good start for you) here: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Addiction/Amino-Acid-Protocol/show/15?cid=66

DLPA has been researched and found to help with depression and is a natural pain killer. The D-side of Phenylalanine (PA) is something we can not produce in our body, nor is it found in significant amounts in our food. It inhibits the enzymes from breaking down adrenalin/endorphins and has been found to work in just a few weeks. Google DLPA and read what you can find. There's a lot of information. Also, look into 5HTP in that same amino acid thread. You may just need to supplement something that you are not getting. It's worth a try - affordable and healthy.  Keep us informed.

I had a couple friends that have had similar experiences with x..My one friend was so scared by what happened she will never touch it again.she was very ill and such for several weeks..have you tried talking to a dr about this? i would say there is something else going on..i am not a dr and certainly don't know the answer for you but I knoe depression can cause pain and all kinds of other things as well..do you take an anti-depressant? You really may have something wrong with discs in your back/neck and should get that checked out..
