Well I'm at 24 hours, completed day one and all I want to do is sleep. I'm taking Tylenol and using my Ativan at night to sleep.  I want a pill so badly. I called my dr to cancel my scripts! I said I wanted to try imitrex in place for my migraines. So, this is really it. The end.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The pharmacy had no reason to lie to you. This may have been Gods wake up call for you. Some of the best lessons are the hardest learned... Keep your chin up. Let go and let God my friend. You are and will be ok.

Just the thought of them contacting me terrifies me! Ugh. I really hope the pharmacist was being honest and that if it was a one time deal its not an issue. I'm still freaking out. I hate feeling like this.

Sometimes anxiety is good, but sometimes it's bad. I'm not sure in this case. But here is the deal:

I know people who were flagged. They are looking for people that are selling their scripts. Not users. People who fill their scripts and then sell the pills as street drugs.

The DEA/FBI may contact you. Tell them the truth that you've taken every pill and not sold one of them. You can even tell them are an addict and that you are getting clean. That's all you need to do.

You all are my family! I appreciate you. I actually went to the pharmacist and spoke to them. They said not a big deal, just that they do it to make sure we aren't taking too much. She looked me up abd there's nothing on my file. So just that one script was flagged. But nothing more. NO MORE THOUGH.

If you slept the first night, that's great!!
I dont sleep AT ALL for the 1st 3 days. The only relief I get is from a scalding hot bath/jacuzzi.  I wouldn't give the script a second thought, you haven't broken any laws.

PS If God brings you to it..... He'll bring you through it.

Good Luck.

Try some Imodium for your stomach and Pepcid or Prilosec.  The Imodium will help your stomach but it also helps some of the withdrawal symptoms.  Valerian Root is all natural and I've found it works really well for anxiety ... better than Ativan or Klonopin.

Try to distract yourself if you can.   I don't think you need to worry about the script.

Update: I slept a little but woke up freaking out about the scripts again. Has anyone else been flagged before?  I am beyond terrified. I think I'm going to go talk to my dr today just to reassure myself and that way I can stop worrying

My stomachs wrecked-heads pounding. Almost at 24 hrs!

For most the cravings can come and go. I do get Support from home and at my Meetings and Church. I am walking in 11 months and had the WORSE Craving today ever. I contacted a few people and got in my Truck and went up the road to talk to my Christians friends. I hit both AA and NA Too but was unable to make it tonight because of road work. I will say this over and over..We have a Community Leader on here that always Says; "Keep Your Guard UP" I swear it is SO true. Just give yourself TIME to Heal the Brain Transmitters and everything will balance out soon..Good Luck YOU can do it!

I am on one full day of detox AGAIN after I gave in after 4 days. It wasn't worth it for me. The pills play a key part on my emotions /mentality... I don't want the pill to be the first thing I think about in the mornings anymore. I don't want to be a slave to a bottle of pills. The bottom line is that its like the very worst case of the flu. It doesn't feel good but when you get through the storm and out on the other side you will look back on these days and THANK YOURSELF for kicking the habit and not giving in. I'm craving them as well but music is helping me IMMENSELY. I get through the cravings ONE SONG at a time.... I let the music invade my mind and then I went an entire song without thinking about a pill. Gradually increasing upwards..2, 3, and now 4 entire songs before I think of one again. Its no cake walk but it DOES GET EASIER my friend. Blessed be!

I felt exactly the same way you did 6 days ago. The cravings are bad those first days. Fight it. Try not to cloud yourself up with thoughts/anxiety of the future. You WILL feel better soon and you WILL think differently and more positively about your future.

I bet every single person on this board can completely relate to all of your feelings. I know i can. We aren't supermen/women, just regular people. If we can, you can.

HANG IN THERE.

Take some Tylenol for that headache. It's a rebound headache so you need to replace the Tylenol that's in the Vicodin.  Be sure to drink, especially water.
Eat something, as well.  Excedrin Migraine works the best for this...

You'll get through this in short order. You have some great options for working on your recovery after that. Your recovery program will become the way you will stay clean. The detox you're going through will only be a faint memory after a while. Keep on doing this one minute, one hour, one day at a time. You are in the process of getting your life back and you can do this! All of us have going through it, so keep posting. Congratulations on your decision to get your life back!

Take a washcloth and wet it with cool water. Stick it in the freezer for a few minutes then, put it on your forehead and over your eyes. It usually does the trick for me when I have a headache.

You can do it. We have all been there. You just have to put in the days and tough it out .You may get lucky and be one of the ones that feel better quickly. Just don't cave. It is so worth it.

As far as the anxiety goes, staying busy is your best bet. Go for a walk. Even if you can only go around the block it will help. Music, funny movies and TVshows, books, and chatting on here help too. Anything that keeps your mind occupied and keeps you from dwelling on pills or how cruddy you feel. A hot bath with epsom salts might calm you a little. It will help with any aches and restless leg syndrome too. The first 3 or 4 nights of my wds, I was on this site ALL night chatting. It helped so, so much. We are here for you. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

No way!!!! It was a real script. I've never forged or faked one. It was just from an old dr, when I currently get them from my fam dr too. It was over a week ago so I'm praying it was just a warning from the pharmacist and nothing more.
I'm going off Vicodin 7.5/500. I was taking 4-8/day, every single day for over 2 years. Started out on the 5/500. I can't go one day without them. My head hurts so badly and I know that's what I always take for it. I can't stand feeling like this.

The time frame is different for everyone. It really depends on a lot of stuff like age, how much you were taking, how long, general health, etc. Ball park figure would be 4-7 days for the acute physical withdrawl symptoms. It might be more, it might be less. The mental part of this can last for quite a while. I am at a little over 3 months clean right now and still have rough days with emotional stuff and cravings. It does get so much better though. I promise!! I would say (and again everyone is different) that around the 1 1/2 week mark I stopped having that desperate feeling of needing just 'one more'. Hang in there. Things will get better. Just take it one day, one hour, or even one minute at a time. Don't look too far into the future. It will overwhelm you and quite possibly set you up for defeat. Just try to have faith that we know what we're talking about and that you will be ok very soon. You can do this!! Keep telling yourself that. And if it helps to be on here, then stay right here. We can chat all you want. It will take your mind off of things.
