Darn iPhone! I know that just one would ease the edge off. I don't think ill sleep tonight. I have the omegas, magnesium and Epsom salts. I just don't feel like this "I want just one more" feeling will ever go away. I'm scared ill never be strong enough. My pharmacy said my last refill was flagged because it was an older one from my previous dr. That scared the crap out of me. I explained I had switched drs and he said ok, put a note in the system that I won't be using the old dr anymore, but I'm so terrified now that ill be arrested!!!!!! I can't deal with that stress and paranoia.

It gets better. I know its hard to believe but it REALLY does. Do ANYTHING and everything you can to keep your mind off of it. I'm pretty sick right now too but its getting easier minute by minute. MUSIC has been a great resource for me... Anything that keeps your mind busy
. Keep posting. Their are lots of people here who know way more than me but one thing we all have in common is addiction and the first few days of detox. I'm only a day in myself after giving in after 4 days. Its a nasty vicious cycle... You can do this.

I don't think you will face criminal charges... I really think you are going to be okay. One step, choice, decision, minute, hour, day at a time.

That feeling of 'it will never get better'..or "I won't ever feel normal" is what keeps fueling our addictions (aside from other factors). You WILL get better. The first few days, physically, mentally, etc, is tough but if u just take 'one more' you are just throwing fuel on the fire. It's your mind playing tricks on u. Hang in there. i was in the exact, exact position you are in right now (many times, actually) and am now almost 300 days clean =)

NA/AA meetings help. Even if u don't think it helps, it helps. Go to one, or two or three. It REALLLLLY helps the first few days cause u see people w/ 100, 500, 1000 days of clean time and u get a sense of hope.

Keep fighting...u can win.

Getting flagged may be the best thing that could have happened if you are really wanting to quit.   It just gets worse with time. It gets way better if you quit .   Hang in there

Thank you guys! I need that. I seriously have made myself sicker thinking about the fact that I'm going to be investigated or arrested. I'm terrified. I've never gotten into trouble befor, never bought them illegally, only had 2 drs because I switched offices once I got insurance. I'm praying it was ok since it was a one time deal. I do get my script filled often (DID! I'm done now). Ill never get these things filled again. Ever. I'm just dying to have that one pill. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh I hate this!!!!!!!!!

It was a total surprise to me that I could function WITHOUT pills! You can too! You will look back and realize how sweet life can be not chained to a pill bottle. I am only 30 days clean, but the first few days were the worst. Kinda like a case of the flu. Not pleasant, but very doable.
Hang in there!! Many experienced people here to help you every step of the way!

As long as you weren't doctor shopping I think you will be fine. Just be honest with the pharmacy and the doctors office. It's when you are seeing multiple doctors and filling scripts from them that is highly frowned upon by the powers that be

Hang in there. That feeling and all of the other rotten feelings do get better. 'One more' will only drag out your withdrawls. Stay hydrated, try to eat well, and take your supplements. Let us know any symptoms you are having and we can give you suggestions for stuff that helps. Try not to fret over not sleeping, or how bad the withdrawls will be. If you do, it only makes everything worse. Just try to go with the flow. You can do this!! We are here for you and want to see you succeed! One quick question. Do you still have access to the pills? If you do, it is so, so important to immediately cut your sources. Whether it's doctor or dealer, if you have access to them you will have a weak moment and cave. I wish you nothing but the best of luck on your journey to recovery. Take care of yourself and try to keep your head up.

I did tell the pharmacy-he seed fine with it and put a note in the system to not accept meds from the old office. I'm hoping that's as far as it goes!  I don't have access-I'm too afraid to ask for any more refills from the dr after having a script flagged! No way am I risking my career and family for this poison. I need to learn to function again. Right now I'm very antsy and anxious. Craving.

The time frame is different for everyone. It really depends on a lot of stuff like age, how much you were taking, how long, general health, etc. Ball park figure would be 4-7 days for the acute physical withdrawl symptoms. It might be more, it might be less. The mental part of this can last for quite a while. I am at a little over 3 months clean right now and still have rough days with emotional stuff and cravings. It does get so much better though. I promise!! I would say (and again everyone is different) that around the 1 1/2 week mark I stopped having that desperate feeling of needing just 'one more'. Hang in there. Things will get better. Just take it one day, one hour, or even one minute at a time. Don't look too far into the future. It will overwhelm you and quite possibly set you up for defeat. Just try to have faith that we know what we're talking about and that you will be ok very soon. You can do this!! Keep telling yourself that. And if it helps to be on here, then stay right here. We can chat all you want. It will take your mind off of things.

No way!!!! It was a real script. I've never forged or faked one. It was just from an old dr, when I currently get them from my fam dr too. It was over a week ago so I'm praying it was just a warning from the pharmacist and nothing more.
I'm going off Vicodin 7.5/500. I was taking 4-8/day, every single day for over 2 years. Started out on the 5/500. I can't go one day without them. My head hurts so badly and I know that's what I always take for it. I can't stand feeling like this.

As far as the anxiety goes, staying busy is your best bet. Go for a walk. Even if you can only go around the block it will help. Music, funny movies and TVshows, books, and chatting on here help too. Anything that keeps your mind occupied and keeps you from dwelling on pills or how cruddy you feel. A hot bath with epsom salts might calm you a little. It will help with any aches and restless leg syndrome too. The first 3 or 4 nights of my wds, I was on this site ALL night chatting. It helped so, so much. We are here for you. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

You can do it. We have all been there. You just have to put in the days and tough it out .You may get lucky and be one of the ones that feel better quickly. Just don't cave. It is so worth it.

Take a washcloth and wet it with cool water. Stick it in the freezer for a few minutes then, put it on your forehead and over your eyes. It usually does the trick for me when I have a headache.

You'll get through this in short order. You have some great options for working on your recovery after that. Your recovery program will become the way you will stay clean. The detox you're going through will only be a faint memory after a while. Keep on doing this one minute, one hour, one day at a time. You are in the process of getting your life back and you can do this! All of us have going through it, so keep posting. Congratulations on your decision to get your life back!

Take some Tylenol for that headache. It's a rebound headache so you need to replace the Tylenol that's in the Vicodin.  Be sure to drink, especially water.
Eat something, as well.  Excedrin Migraine works the best for this...

I felt exactly the same way you did 6 days ago. The cravings are bad those first days. Fight it. Try not to cloud yourself up with thoughts/anxiety of the future. You WILL feel better soon and you WILL think differently and more positively about your future.

I bet every single person on this board can completely relate to all of your feelings. I know i can. We aren't supermen/women, just regular people. If we can, you can.

HANG IN THERE.
