Made it to day 7!!!

Wow...everyone was right, it is a huge turning point!    I got a call last night asking if I wanted some and I said NO!!!   The temptation was strong because my back was aching so bad, but then I reminded myself that I would have to go through the hell of w/d's again.  No thank you!!!    I'm going to another meeting today.   I need all the strength and encouragement I can get.  :)

It's funny that I'm looking forward to going to bed tonight knowing that I'm going to sleep a little better and wake up feeling better, too! Yes we can do this and we are!! No way are we ever going back!!! Awesome motivation!

I went to a meeting yesterday and plan to go again today.  I plan to continue going each day I can get away from work.  Anything I can do to get my mind off myself and focused on the future is what I need and want.

Great job, there will still be some bad days, but remember this empowering feeling and push on through them. You're going to feel so much better about everything. Best wishes.

It is a horrible life. And your absolutley right...we can never ever take just one or two. Our brains rememeber our addiction. And the withdrawls are always worst.

Do you plan on doing any aftercare??

Absolutely!    Just getting asked was a huge trigger... and I've made it this far before and been asked and it was so easy to fool myself into believing that I could take just a couple and be ok.   That does not work!!!    One or two and I back into the problem again.   Something changed in me this time and I don't want to go back.   I don't want to be that person anymore.  I feel so bad about not being fully present in my life, letting some stupid pills dominate my every action and thought.   Telling people I couldn't spend time with them because I was pill sick.  Or lying about where I was so I could get more.  Or being dillisuional in believing that I couldn't do simple day to day tasks without the pills.  Any little task was an excuse to take one or an excuse not to do something because I didn't have any.  What a horrible way to live life.  I'm off that roller coaster and want to stay off.  This is no way to live and not the life I ever envisioned for myself.

Im so proud of you for saying no. Dont ya feel empowered knowing you can just say no?

Its great of you to share your story. It gives others hope to see another person who is new in sobriety saying no thanks to the nightmare of addiction . Give  yourself a HUGE high five
