Id just like to thank you all that commented . Its nice to hear from someone whos sat in my seat. Im still a bit scared , but I know after my w/d I will never go back . Now I have an idea about how long it takes to re learn everything. Like lost said every day is a new and better day but im still far from normal . Nice to know every day keeps getting better :)
My doc had nom idea , but hes an enabler . Even after i went 5 days he was already trying to put me on more xanax , or buspar. I got mad and left then . Last night after posting I slept the best I have in a long time. Thank you all for posting . It helps alot!
check out the website, benzouk.org or benzo.org or something like that. you'll learn all about this stuff -- all about the benzos, wd's, etc. also, you'll learn about a program called The Road Back.....and also about supplements you can take to help yourself recover during the weaning off stage as well as after you've been weaned off. it's really good stuff (the program and website, I mean!)
My DOC was also benzos, specifcally xanax and yes it is the worst case of w/d's ever namely because it is soooo dangerous... I am clean now 16 days but had a few days of a taper plan.. the w/d's included everything you said... I read and also my doctor confirmed that we need 3 months before we start feeling 100%.. I know it sounds like a long time but with each day it is better and better..Physically I am still not the same as I was before I ever took them.. concentration is a big one for me, forgetfullnes is another.. I find driving a little difficult - I have to concentrate on every little thing. Even a trip to the supermarket takes at least an hour longer than normal...let me know how you go... and congrats on 9 days!!
I went ct off xanax. I had no idea there would be any withdraw problems. 4 days later I had a major seizure--thank god someone else was driving my truck or I would have been dead.

well since it is over I will say most likely you are OK now, but that was really dangerous. I have been off them for a year, but I did a taper that took about 3 months with my doctor's help. Be careful!!
That is totally freakin scary what you went through...your doc prescribed the xanax for you but did (s)he know you were going to stop ct? I was thinking about xanax after a month being clean from percs but after what i heard here on the forum, i decided xanax is not 4 me...
congrats on your clean time....my opiate detox was nothing like that...

Sorry not all that familar with benzo's . I do know that you should never go cold turkey off them. You must taper.
