When will it all go away

I am not an addict although I used to be. Me and my husband abused perscription pain pills for almost 2 years I up and quit cold turkey about 3 months ago for some reason it wasn`t that hard. We lost our home and r currently living with his parents i think that was my rock bottom cause we have 2 kids 2 take care of. I know its very hard to quit my question is...why do these symptoms happen and when will they go away? My husband still abuses he is trying to quit now. Not only does he get the body aches he also has nose problems. When hes out his nose will burn real bad and that will make his eye water and he looks horrible like hes been sick in bed for day. He hasn`t slept through the night in 3 months hes up every hour doing a little bit of a pill to make his nose quit burning so he can sleep. Y is this? He won`t go get professional help cause no1 knows hes addicted. What can he do at home 2 help relieve some of these withdrawls? Not only is this hard on him its hard on his family too please help.
