SkullCap for withdrawal

Am on day 9 of Suboxone withdrawal.  Still miserable.  Went to GNC on advice of many people that I should take vitamin B-12.  I spoke to the girl there.  She kinda knew I was in withdrawal (I guess I've looked better) and said that lots of people come in to the store in withdrawal and are buying up the B-12 and something called SkullCap (sscutellaria lateriflora).  An herbal liquid used to promote a healthy nervous system. . . . I searched a little on google and found some information saying it helps with withdrawal.  But I dont like to take stuff I know nothing about.  Even herbal stuff.  Does anyone have any experience with this herbal supplement?

I've never used that, but I did use L-Tyrosine and Gaba for help with repairing neurotransmitters (i.e. made my wet head feel better).....I can't stress this enough, the EPSOM SALT bathes really do help!!!  Take a really good multivitamin with high potassium and magnesium!!!!  Don't only take vitamins trying to replace missing energy, b/c their NOT going to work.  I found the more I tried to use for energy replacement, my anxiety would spike through the roof.  Take things that your body is losing through this process, amino acids, WATER!!!!, vitamins, etc....And push your *** through it.  I jumped off of 24mg of subs that I had been taking for almost 7 years....It was a ***** and I know how ****** you feel right now.  I couldn't leave my house for almost a month!
Just funny story.....when you said the lady at GNC knew what "condition" you were in it reminded me when I was at about day 7/8 I had to go to CVS to get more Immodium and I know I looked like I was going to rob the store!  The lady looked so scared when I walked up to the counter so I started coughing telling her I had the flu, and if I were her I'd go wash my hands after touching my money!  LOL  Sweatshirt, sweatpants, hair in bun, no makeup, looked like total ****!!!!  I'm glad though that I can now look back and laugh...I've been clean a little over 3 1/2 years now.

Ok so I have a question. I took my last suboxone 100 hours ago. I still feel very weak. I never really took more than 4mg a day and have only been on them for 7 months. I took a 50mg tramadol yesterday around my 72 hour. Does that restart my withdraw process all over again from the beginning? Especially since the subs should be completely out of my system by now.

I've used skullcap as a general nervous system tonic- it's gentle, mildly sedative, and though the dosage can vary from person to person, (it might make you sleepy if you're sensitive) it's quite safe. I took it 2-3 times a day for a month to help with depression, anxiety, and general nervous system strength and adaptability. It doesn't make me sleepy, personally. i felt an improvement by the end of a few weeks!

Skullcap is in the mint family- a pretty gentle and useful group of herbs. Most of them beneficially affect the nervous system and/or digestive system. I suggested it to a friend in suboxone withdrawal, and he said it did help take the edge off cravings. Some take it as a sleep aid, especially for racing thoughts. Helpful for OCD, as well as pain (though obviously it's nowhere near as strong as opiates.) It's safe (and most effective) if taken over several months.

I say start with a dropperful (or half a dropperful if you're sensitive... though if you're on suboxone you probably have a tolerance!) and go up to 3 or more dropperfuls if you need it. See how it affects you- common sense rule: make sure you're not sleepy before you drive.

Hey,  I can relate to what you are going through.  I am at day 17 after only being on Sub for 21 days ----  I wish I had just tapered from my DOC - Oxy.   I think it would have been easier.   All I can say is --- Hang in there ---- that is what I am doing and no matter what I am not going back to Sub or my Oxy ----- I have come too far now to turn back and I know you have too --- all we can do is go forward knowing that we will be free of this bondage.  All the best.

I took Valerium. It helps to calm you down and sleep. I was on suboxone after taking 15-20 vics a day. I only stayed on it for 2 weeks because I was told th withdrawl from it was worse. While on it i had no symptoms at all. I came right off after weaning to half a pill 2x a day. the valerium helps but it may show as valium in your urine if your tested so make sure you make anyone who needs to know aware.
